Love when monster trucks are real trucks, like this. Even more, i'd love to see a whole class of similar vehicles running each other, crushing cars, like in the early days! Now all is boring fiberglass, no brand identity-rivalry.. Great truck, congratulations.

Eh, they switched to steel chassis’s for the safety of drivers.
@fernandochaves9665 Жыл бұрын
@@notserp1836 could be. But its a weight saving matter mainly, I think, to get rid of the original bodies. Besides, speeds back then were not high enough to put in risk any driver. In the 90s monster trucks start to develop dangerous speeds..

Super cool build! Might want to reinforce those shackles, looks like they'd buckle with any side impact or rough bumps.

Please check out my newer videos. Now that the truck is finished, reinforcements were added. The truck was far from finished in this video. Thanks

you need a rockwell transfercase. they have a forced oiling system so you can use it as a drop box and cut down on that driveshaft angle. you are just going to destroy the u joints with them that severe

What are those leaf springs from?
@BlueOXmonstertruck Жыл бұрын
I got them second hand, but their custom made. there is a place near me that can make a new set if I need them.

Do you have any pics of mounting point for the body onto the frame? What are the axles, 2.5t or 5tons?
@BlueOXmonstertruck2 жыл бұрын
Well it's a 5x3-in rectangular tubing straight frame the 3/16 thick. The body mounts are quarter inch flat stock that I just built up once I positioned the body over the chassis. And yes it's 5 ton axles. I don't know how to add photos to the comments

@@BlueOXmonstertruck thank you! It looks amazing! For the drivetrain mounts, I’m assuming you made them with the same 1/4” as the body mounts.

@@keithnorton5887 I'm running the stock automatic transmission and transfer case. But off the back of the stock transfer case is a very short drive shaft to the military two and a half ton transfer case. I have the military case locked and lower range all the time. But then that allows me to shift the stock trucks transfer case from low to high as needed. So obviously the front output from the stock transfer case is unused. But the military transfer case is an air shift for the four-wheel drive so a small onboard air compressor and a and a solenoid engages the four-wheel drive. Otherwise yes there's custom bracketry I made from square tubing and quarter inch steel I used to make mounts for the military transfer case. When you're doing something like this yeah you got to make custom motor mounts transmission mounts leaf spring mounts oversized swing shackles I'm still working on a cradle to mount ladder bars on and additional transfer case brackets.

@@BlueOXmonstertruck ty for taking the time to share this info. I appreciate it. I’m trying to gather all the parts needed to do something similar. After going through this, do you have anything you would have done different?
