Yes, you should always use new tires and not tires that are re-treaded as they are dangerous and not certified as safe by the manufacturer per the date stamp on the tire. This whole video is trash as even old never used tires are unsafe if more than seven years old as the rubber becomes hardened and cracks. You should always install new tires, safety first!

@@abc123fhdi haha, independent laboratories all over the world say what you just said is not true... There are multiple steps to tire retread. First and most important is inspection to determine whether the tire can be retreaded or not. Do you research and stop the misinformation. New tire manufacturers will tell you to buy only new because they want your hard earned cash, don't be a sheep.

Tire that pass inspection of no imperfections gets a label that is stapled with a staple gun making holes wtf .... Safety standards seem really high right?

When you see tires explode on the hwy, that’s from re-treading. Retreading is the worst idea ever. Steel belts can only tolerate so much abuse and rotational mass over time.

“The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration completed a comprehensive commercial tire debris study in 2008 in which they analyzed almost 1,500 tires and tire debris from our highways to determine what caused their failure or removal from service. Their conclusion is basically, when tires do fail, new and retreaded tires fail in equal proportion and those failures have nothing to do with the retreading or manufacturing process.“ The government is a bunch of liars!

Especially horses. When their tyres burst they get laid out like a carpet while the side walls disentergrate which I always suspected was retreads.

Bought retreads for my first car in late 1960's, until they quit selling them in mid-80's. Never had a problem with recaps. Was all I could afford back then. Usually bought them from the JCPenney Auto Center.

I never had any luck with retreads on my truck.They would always blow out and cause damage to the vehicle

I understand that these retreaded tires are generally cheaper and better for the environment, but I don’t trust them. I’m temporarily a truck driver and had one of my retreaded drive tires completely come off the shell of the tire. I knew the tires were no good but my company didn’t listen to me when I wanted them changed. If I were the owner of that truck, I would only use brand new tires every time I need a replacement. Sure, it’s more expensive, especially when you have a fleet of 1500+ trucks, but they’re safer and more reliable. I only use brand new tires on my personal vehicles, either Michelin or Pirelli. Take care of your vehicle and your vehicle will take care of you.

Yet the highway is loaded with the blown recaps' retreads Yea this is safe ???!!!! USA,DOT Wont let use these on font axles .If the treads are worn so is the casings from heat cycles and age !!!! d!

Hayes S. No it’s not, these tyres blow at high speeds. You don’t want to be in a vehicle with one of these when it blows, nor do you want to be the vehicle behind.
