We visit all the major tourist spots in Beijing, It's a challenge to deal with Kyoung Sook's attitude! I would have had more fun going alone by myself!
I surprised myself with how much Mandarin I had learned while driving in traffic! I could easily barter and negotiate prices, ask and give directions, order our food and even book a taxi for the day! Too bad it's not on camera! Pimsleur method, it works!
The Korean customs were waiting for me at the door! They wanted to check my suitcases for drugs! Then they tried confiscating the products I had purchased in China under the pretense that they were fake. They even took me to a smaller room to intimidate me even further! I didn't have any of their shenanigans and went home with everything I had purchased. Kyoung Sook was balling her eyes out the whole 45 minutes or so this incident took. She was so afraid and she didn't trust me in the sense that she didn't believe I knew what I was doing. Superman with the wind in his face! lol
Sales are so high that teaching in the morning prevents me from selling enough jerseys that it actually cost me money to teach in the morning!
North Korea tested their first nuke. This brought me to have discussions with my young students to see how they and their families felt about this new tension between the Koreas.
It was quite emotional and I reflect on the meaning of all this.
I want to leave my mark!
More sales means less sleep!
Our increase in sale volume is pushing me to re-think our systems to be able to keep up with the demand. The last thing I would want is to not being able to meet the demand because of logistical reasons.
