In this video I will share my experiences using the first generation Fox Step-cast 32 vs the newer iteration that Fox claims is as stiff as its larger sibling, the 34 Step-cast. I will discuss my first impressions of the step cast fork and how it handled.
I will then compare both the old fork with the new fork in a time trial on some rooty trails to see if the newer fork is indeed stiffer. I used the same bike (Santa Cruz Blur) and same wheels, just swapped the forks out. I kept the same settings between both forks in the time trial runs.

Thanks this was very helpful and honest review. Fox marketing got over their skis here. Clearly they didn't consider the impression they are giving, that they would have made a mistake with the 34 if this new 32 was "as stiff". That said, all else being equal - as a smaller rider (65kg) I think based on this review I wouldn't have any issue deciding to go with the new 32.

This is a bit off topic. But do you know a saddle bag for road bikes. That can carry a big smartphone, keys, wallet, snack, handkerchiefs a multitool and the essentials to fix a flat? I bought the topeak aero wedge medium sized one. And i can only fit my phone, keys and a multitool. And that with struggle! I am really disappointed and frustrated.

I usually carry my phone in my jersey pocket which allows room for other things in the saddle bag. Let me look at a few and I'll send you some links tomorrow. 👍😁

@@BlackWaterCyclist Thank you very much! 😊 I wanted to buy a jersey but i am too fat right now. I intended to buy one after 20kg loss. That is why i don't have pockets.

@@xelseartheonlyone1267 Ok after looking around I really think this is a great deal for what you are looking for. It has good reviews and should carry a ton of stuff and have easy access. amzn.to/32CQk5h

@@BlackWaterCyclist Thank you very much! Sorry for the trouble. As a newbie road biker. I found out the biggest problem is how to carry stuff without losing freedom of movement. When i had the Kona bike a trekking one. I just had a 5$ backpack where i carried a ton of stuff. Now with the AR i want my body free of bags and stuff. But also be able to carry all the essentials and not just flat repair kits. Like food, phone and keys. Thank you very much again.

@@xelseartheonlyone1267 No worries, you can ask me anything, anytime! I love helping out others and love that you are riding and have supported my channel from the beginning. There are several bike fitters who say that we should not carry anything on our person, that it should all be on the bike so it doesn't affect how we sit on the bike and pedal. I usually try to carry as little as possible in my pockets. I carry my phone in the middle back pocket and usually some bars so I can reach them easily while riding. Everything else I have in the saddle bag or mounted on the bike.

The new fork is around 50-75 grams heavier I believe. Not much. So I think around 3.1 lbs instead of 2.99 lbs
