The older of the two little girls looked a lot like the wife in that picture you looked at in the house. Digging for treasure is a lot of work at these kinds of sales where the house is so packed with stuff. Takes a lot of patience. Nice finds!

I think Estate sales are very interesting. We don't have it over here. We wouldn't let people in our houses like that. It's just a different culture We donates and such. I have a Southwestern/Mexican themed tablecloth and napkins that my late MIL acquired in the 40s-ish - they remind me a lot of the ceramic tray you found. So great for summertime Taco Tuesdays! Love the Fox print as well as the original pastoral oil painting. The orange glass candy dish will be perfect for Halloween - full of candy corn! WOW! $55 - such a deal!

After you clean that painting, if you spray it with a painting varnish such as Krylon Kamar varnish, those colors will sing. A fascinating video. I'm looking forward to the Edison disc party!

Well Scott, you found some treasure amidst the leavings of a few generations lived in that old house. That old party game box is a rarity to find intact, and the shelf paper as well. I suspect the goofus glass plates came home from the fair, were tucked away, and never moved again. For some reason I thought you had taken the large portrait photo of the lovely lady, but I guess not. Thanks for taking us along with you. Was that orange covered jar Tango glass?
