Many of metalheads like you, or middle aged guys who like music, have fallen in love for BABYMETAL. me too.

- I tried to tell you in the comments of all your other BABYMETAL videos, you gotta watch “BABYMETAL Death” before the guide, because it spoils the crucifixion. It was to symbolize her ascension from a mortal to a metal goddess. It’s how they celebrate her birthday. - If you wanna know more about the entire crucifixion story, watch three songs in order from the “Legend 1997” concert: “Headbanger”, then “Akatsuki (unfinished)”, then “BABYMETAL Death”. These three songs closed the show in an epic way. (or watch the entire concert it’s fantastic) - This is purely speculation, but many people have pieced together that Yui may have been suffering from some kind of back issues. During their last shows, Yui is noticeably not moving the same. She wasn’t bending over all the way for certain moves and things like that. It also looked like she was wearing a back brace of some kind. Another sign is that her face appeared “puffier” than normal, which is a common side effect from a medication commonly prescribed for back issues. So, it could be assumed that she is suffering from a back injury that could cause long-term issues. Again, this isn’t confirmed and is just speculation. - This guide isn’t entirely accurate. It is still quite good and is the best sort of video like this available. It leaves a lot of important things out though, like the importance of their performance at Sonisphere in 2014, the fact that they opened and/or toured with big artists like Lady Gaga, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, or the fact that Yui said that if she ever returns to the stage that it would be as a solo act as she dreams of pursuing a solo career. I have toyed around with the idea of making a more insightful, detailed, and slightly easier to digest version of a BABYMETAL “guide”, but I don’t want to seen like a copy cat and I know it would take me ages to produce something that I’m happy with and I don’t know if there is even a demand for that kind of video.

All the crap that went on online over the 2018 stuff wasn't directed at the gruop it was at Amuse. It was really a clash of cultures, in the west we like to know what is going on, where as the Japanese tend to keep things to themselves. So the whole not saying anything about Yui upset a lot of fans. OK we were not after anything personal, but the fans would have liked to know that Yui was not going to tour, before they bought tickets, or at least before the 1st show. Amuse just didn't help themselves, by not saying anything and just digging in. So the reaction the group and the dancers got, was really a backlash at Amuse, all they had to say was, Yui had not recovered and would not be on the tour. And I think it took 4 months for them to say that, then it had to be draged out of them at an AGM of share holders. So, yes Amuse were the bad guy's that caused the group/dancers to get treated the way they were on that tour. And I still believe that if they had said something before the tour things would have been very different.

Well... this ruined the crucifixion 😅 Anyway, I'm gonna ignore the spoiler and tell you that you should react to "Babymetal Death" next time. 🤘

Hello OSN, I enjoyed this, start to finish. I did want to maybe solve something for you. At 08:25 you seemed to be confused by the "Fire Nation" remark. It is a reference to the 2005 Nickelodeon series 'Avatar The Last Airbender'. That line, "Everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked." Is from the introduction of each episode. The show ran for three seasons and received many awards. It was a show conceived here in the US, by two white guys, but done in a style that is very similar to many animes. If you are not familiar with the show, and you like that sort of thing, it is definitely worth checking out. As always, I enjoyed your reaction. The comments and questions you interject throughout are what we've come to love and expect from you. You're reaction to the crucifixion was pure gold! Got a full blown laugh out of me. I've also got to give you props for your statement at the end. Many folks don't seem to know (or consider) how hard these girls work to get to perform. I’ve seen other people say this on reactor’s videos for BabyMetal, and that is that Amuse doesn’t seem to block anything from their Budokan Black and Red Nighy shows and anything before that. So, their 2013 and 2014 shows are mostly safe to react to. I have seen many people react to videos from the Legend 1997 concert in 2013 and have never seen them get blocked or have to be edited or anything like that. Try and find performances from Budokan Red/Black Night, or the Legend 1997, 1999, or D concerts.

Congrats you have now completed the BABYMETAL Primer. The vast majority of fans care for Yui and support her choice and we just want her to be well again (not back, just better, so she can continue her own journey as Mizuno Yui). Obviously that video is now (slightly) out of date Riho now has a blossoming theatre career and everyone pretty much expects she is unlikely to return as an Avenger. With Kanio she (finally) graduated Sakura Gakuin in Sept 2020 (delayed from March due to COVID). She now is working with her own group (her plus the other 3 SG Sept graduates) in OneFive so again few expect her return as an Avenger. For all the majority of 2020 (since their festivals and Asian tour leg were cancelled) Momoko has been the solo Avenger. A couple of additions / corrections to the video. YUIMETAL and MOAMETAL have been crucified only once at Tokyo Dome (Black Night) SU-METAL 5 times - Legend D, Legend Z, Legend 1997, Tokyo Dome (Black Night), and Baptism XX, Legend S. BUT the crucifixion itself took place only twice (during Legend 1997 and Legend S). Other than that the girls just appear on a cross. Legend D - well she gets on it herself I guess (self crucfication?) LOL Yui's stare is renowned, she looks into the camera (especially during interviews) UNBLINKING. It is universally considered she is stealing your soul with her kawaiiness. Moa is renowed for the Kikuchi tongue - ANY excuse and she sticks her tongue out (even saying BABYMETAL DEATH (DESU)) The use of a fox (not a goat for example) stems for Japanese culture and the fox kami (spirit) appears an awful lot in their mythology. Yuimetal's health I believe has something to do with her going in and out of conciseness during interviews and having delayed reactions. We all make fun of this but it could be the reason for her ill health. These are symptoms of Narcolepsy, and can be very dangerous for performers on stage. I am not saying that this is the case, just an observation. I feel very sad for Yuimetal and wish her all the best.

I'm not one of those people that is upset about the Avengers or the prospect of someone becoming a permanent third member of Babymetal. True, I'm pretty late to the party here, but I accepted and embraced every change that both Nightwish and Dream Theater have gone through, so I don't think I would have had a problem with someone else stepping into Yui's spot. It's not as if they just picked some untalented scrub off the street and put them in Yui's costume. I do agree that if the Avengers have gone through idol training, give 'em a mic and let them sing.

The woman who made that video makes some gatekeeping remarks against middle aged man that are not what the fans or the band think in any sense. They have said a lot of times that they are so happy to see everyone finding a space on their crowds, from youngsters to old men from the metal age and that to see them mosh together is really fun. Everyone is invited to this joy party. To have a video so popular in views using the girls popularity to say those kind of hating remarks is a problem we have around in youtube. A part from that the video it is very entertaining and informative. Also the BM Death spoiler is bad to watch when you are a reactor and have not seen that song yet.

I really appreciate the effort put into this guide video, but the robot voice kind of gets hard to listen to after a while. I lasted about 20 minutes before it started to get annoying. I guess it's better than no voice at all though.

I once saw some Italian reactors who were shocked by the crucifixion in Death, but they posted it anyway. So much of the imagery and underlying mythology of Babymetal is in Shinto. They even had a Shinto priest bless the launch of Megitsune. In the traditional belief structures of Japan there is no concept of blasphemy

Being Japanese idol is not easy and can be really f..d up. Yui always been a shy, scared one. Is it Yui's health or her will to depart from that massive fame that changed Sacura Gakuin from innocent play in to storm of fame does not matter. her life is more important Babymetal goes on. Whatever they do now, there isn't much in metal that we can enjoy like this anymore. 80-90s massive stages and theatrics of judas Priest, Poison or Iron Maiden are mostly gone but Babymetal team gives us a show that puts to shame the rest of metal comunity. As someone who doesn't know that well babymetal, this was a great video, now for the avengers, i am kinda not the right one here because i already know riho sayashi as a former morning musume member so i like to see her more in the industry, but i kinda understamd the poit, nobody can take the place, as a star wars fan i would hate to see someone take one of the original spot as a recast, but we can give a chance to the new people not as a replacement or whearever you call them, but as a new adiction to the group and meybe we learn to like them, who knows.

I know this is a hot-take among the babymetal cult.. I mean fanbase, but here goes anyway: If you listen to the lyrics and take everything into account, it becomes pretty clear that Starlight is a tribute to Yui, while Shine is the Mikio tribute. Exhibit A: The end of the Starlight video features the first glimpse of Yui's replacements, looking up to a star, the star being Yui. Exhibit B: On Legend M, Moa dances with Mikio's guitar. Exhibit C: The lyrics of Shine, talking about "the shining road", "eternal journey" etc. all classic references to death. Exhibit D: The starlight video was released on the anniversary of Yui leaving the group. AFAIK there have been no official statements about either song being a tribute at all, so if you disagree with me then you're free to do so but you'd be wrong.

As for amuse being the bad guys. I cannot really agree with you there. Yes they are a big record company, that is notoriously hoardy with their copyrights. But that is honestly their right. As for amusemembers interaction. I honestly cannot think of much amuse really has wronged them. The biggest one would be not mentioning Yui's absence before the US tour started in 2018. There is a lot of exploitation within the whole idol industry where lots of young girls dreams are converted into cash by managers. I cannot speak for their contracts of course, but I have the impression they have left the whole idol part of their legacy behind. This is in my opinion mainly thanks to Kobametal, who never really was an idol manager and always aimed to get a rock/metal band produced. And from everything I have read and seen a lot of the things he does is to protect the girls from the bad sides of stardom. While we as fans might not like the secrecy, the fact we know so little of their private lives is I think great for them.

I think they're pretty safe from legal issues. Japan is a huge market for Disney, and initiating proceedings against a Japanese entertainment company wouldn't be in their interests. I just hope Babymetal don't become a target for acquisition.

Yes I like the Babymetal in the beginning with yui , but the group has mutured there different many ways , I 🤔 think Su metal voice has mature and she not afraid to try new songs , she truly a professional and Moa metal supports Su metal in so many ways , so I like old and new Babymetal , can't wait to see them in concert . Maybe someday they would get invited to do half time show at super bowl.

Su-metal had to take on the role of leader in the early days, because Yuimetal and Moametal were even younger than her ! (also because Suzuka had more experience in entertainment). Babymetal, especially everyone involved, from Mikiko (who is the choreographer) to Kami band and even Kobametal is an extreme talent for doing all of this. And still being able to keep Babymetal on track. Yes, their were problems, but they dealt with them in the best way they could come up with... some decisions turns out to be wrong. But far, far more decisions turned out to be extremely right.

It appears that Babymetal is treated pretty well by Amuse. But, Amuse and/or Babymetal management have made some weird decisions at times. In hindsight this video probably spent to much time on the avengers as there is no real indication that they will be the same for the next tour and have never been mentioned by their names.

There is alot more to the fox than just being cuter. The Kitsune is an actual creature in Japanese mythology. Sometimes a god, sometimes just a creature. Strongly associated with the Feminin mystique, charm and cunning. Often depicted as a woman with fox ears and a tail (sometimes combined with the nine tail fox mythology)

I will bet you good money that most the "middle age men" following Babymetal isnt doing it for creepy reasons. Im 39 and I LOVE this band, I have probably 20 friends roughly the same age and who love this band and the "creepiest statement" Ive ever heard anyone say is "Theyre adorable" which they absolutely are. The reason I love them, and the overwhelming most commom reason most people I know has given is that we grew up on anime. Even tho we probably didnt realize it at the time and, being metalheads and all, would NEVER admit it, Anime carved out a place in our heart for J-pop with their catchy and outrageously infectous intro and outro songs. Babymetal is essentially combining THAT with Metal. Some of my best childhood memories comebined with friggin Metal? How can you NOT love that? Im absolutely sure there are creeps out there, these are very young very pretty Girls, its probably inevitable. But Im getting sick of this label being slapped on any man above the age of 25 and love their music. I listen to at least 20-30 of their songs on a daily basis. You rarely hear these accusations about other artists. "eew all these creepy middle ages dudes following Britney Spears/Ariana Grande/Taylor Swift". You know why? Cuz most men, middle ages or not, are there for the music and boiler plate standard pop doesnt appeal to middle ages men, *metal does.* If it was a creepy fixation and NOT the music youd see just as many in the Swift or Grande crowd. I bet this video is made by a teenage girl. Every bad fan or Critic is repeatedly (even exclusively, I think) referred to as "old men" and the emphasis on "no insulting young women" when you shouldnt be insulting anyone indicates a strong bias. It has nothing to do with age and it has nothing to do with gender. Dont be an axxholes no matter what age or gender you are and dont blame the artist for something out of their control no matter what age or gender they are. This is not very Hard concept to understand... Unless youre a teenage girl.
