I'd don't know if I'm more im impressed by the size of the fish or him having a causal convo while doing it...🤯

Hi Tyler. Loved the video. You had me laughing at how calm you were and how you just kept talking throughout the monster catch. I probably would have been hyperventilating. Many factors to consider on these Lithium batteries. Could you tell me the pound thrust of your motor? Also did your speed controller use PWM technology. Both are major factors in battery life. I have blue tooth on my battery but never downloaded the app to my phone. I will be doing that real quick. Thanks again for the great, informative video.

Great breakdown, especially towards the end when you can see how much you were using the battery, now I’ll know more accurately, my 100 amp hour And has about 60% left after fishing 10 hours, I had to recommend a lithium ion battery

Very good video. That help me with the technicals a lot especially when you told us not to use the same battery for the trolling motor and the fish finder. I did not know about the interference that would create and I've seen it on my fish finder. Thanks great video.

My Amped Outdoors 80amp Lithium can go longer than the specs online. I can fish two full 8-10hr days on that battery. I've never ran outta juice. I went to the lake before full charge 5am-5pm around the whole left side of the lake and still have juice. I went multiple trips back to back for 6-8hrs and never once had to paddle back. This is the minnkota 106 kayak when it retailed 2499$ in 2020 lol.

honestly the weight alone is a reason, i started with a led battery a week later i bought a lithium, after fishing a few hour and having to carry stuff back to car was tough

I use a 50w flexible solar panel on the lid of my kayak crate behind my back and it keeps my batteries charged without any issues even in partially cloudy days. I'm actually surprised small solar panels arent part of most kayak builds

these days you can grab a 300ah LPF battery for $700-$900. Also with LA batteries, even jel, discharging below 50% on regular basis. Yeah the gel is claimed to drop to 30% but definitely wouldn't recommend it. Big added expense for LFP are the external controls depending on the battery make brand. Last I would suggest 24v over 12v. Smaller guage wires, a lot smaller, can save a $100-$200 with how spend copper wire is today.

Non-use will not greatly affect battery performance if stored properly. Always check with the battery manufacturer for their recommended long term storage guidelines.

Had a question about running a single battery for your electronics and trolling motor. I here alot of people say don't connect your electronics and motor on the same battery and That you have too separate them.. what is the reason too separate them??
@OldTownCanoeKayak
@OldTownCanoeKayak 2 жыл бұрын
The biggest reason is interference between the motor and fish finder that can make it hard to read the fish finder.

Do you run a separate battery for your fish finder? I was looking at the amp outdoors 100ah and another Amazon 100ah battery to power the trolling motor.
@OldTownCanoeKayak
@OldTownCanoeKayak 2 жыл бұрын
We recommend using a separate battery to power your fish finder to prevent interference from the motor. The fish finder battery can be much smaller, 10-20ah is plenty for a full day or two of power on most fish finders.
