Twice in the '80s when I lived in Atlanta and Ole was wrestling for WCW, I accidentally ran into him. Once after a match in Riverdale, I found myself standing next to him at a Wendys counter. King Kong Bundy was next to him. I knew who he was but didn't say anything. Just nodded and he smiled back. He appeared about as wide as he was tall. I couldn't help but notice the deep scars almost every wrestler has over his/her foreheads. That part. . is definitely "real". The second occasion was a couple of years later. I was going into a Krogers on Roswell Rd north of Atlanta when Ole walked out. . .headed directly towards my parked vehicle. This time I did say hello and asked if he lived in the area. He acknowledged that he did and for a few minutes a bit of small talk ensued. He was polite but I didn't want to overstep courtesy. Even more ironic, my lifelong friend in north Ga is an accountant. Guess who was one of his clients for the last years of his life? Yep. Ole. Accordeing to my friend, he was exactly in person who he sounds like here. Onery, combatitive, often difficult to deal with. Granted, not many found Ole Anderson that friendly or engaging but his was a tale to tell. . .like him or not. In the early days when wrestling territories were being carved out, Ole, Gene, Arn and Lars Anderson played major roles in making professional wrestling the success it has become. He left his mark.

Ole reminds me of a boss that I had once. He was hated by some of his peers because he was that good. He didn't need people telling him what to do, the guy was a leader. I figured out quickly that the guy was gold and in the end, I was right.

I remember being a little kid, 10 or 11 years old, and going to the sports arena when they came to town. Used to run around by the locker room doors, hoping to catch sight of Tommy Rich, and came across Ole Anderson sitting in the back watching the matches. I started talking to him and he didn't say much so I asked him if I was bothering him. He said that I wasn't bothering him and started commenting about the matches and asked me what I thought. The wrestlers that I idolized didn't have time to acknowledge me and Ole spoke and let me watch with him . That became my routine when they came. People call him an asshole and miserable and whatever else but he was the only one that took the time to speak to a little girl who was there to watch her wrestling idols. RiP Ole Anderson

I believe he was running his mouth during all that and td on himself. He probably didn't remember how it got brought up back then. I believe he's a pretty stable guy now. I met him years ago, with some others, near closing time at a bar in Knoxville. He was cool. This was about 30 years ago. I don't remember the bar . It used to be Desperado's. There was about 7 of them standing around and not many other people at the time.

He was a millionaire, Bob Roop was friends with Ole and said he was already rich way before the Four Horseman. Ole's health was greatly diminished by here even compared to his highspots interview.
