Oleander Hawk-Moth Transformation from Caterpillar to Moth

The transformation process from Caterpillar to Pupa then to Moth.
In Nature, the caterpillar will try to make their nest inside the soil, then turn to Pupa Stage, which takes about 2 days.
The Pupa colour will be changed from white colour, slowly to orange then become darker colour, then about the day before becoming Moth, the eyes and the green colour wings can be seen. This process takes about 7-10 days.

I recently caught this caterpillar and incubated it Its healthy and just turned to pupa I can't wait to turn it into moth

Found three under our periwinkle plant. I sesrched high and low on how to make an artificial cocoon but after after your helpful video I guess I will just put them in a mug full of sand.😄👏👏

So glad I found this video. I believe the oleander hawk moth caterpillar I found yesterday was beginning to pupate, so I thought I should read about what happens, step-by-step. Did not know about the soil, either, so I put a big scoop in the popup and it began rolling in it. Thank you!!!

I found this type of pupa and put it in a container...I've taken care of a clipper butterfly before and I have to spray some water at it's container....does this hawk moth butterfly needs water to transform?

It depends on how you put the host plant, you can spray the hostplant. During the pupa stage no need to spray, but provide some soil or some things for them to hide.

@@SingaporeGeographic 😥 sadly, I never knew that pupa need soil. I just put it in a blank container, and suddenly it just hatched. 😥 I'm going to let it go tomorrow. But I watches how the wings became bigger than earlier it just hatched. 😐
