This is how I care for my oleander hawk moth caterpillars. The practical steps apply for all caterpillars in general though. Hope this was useful or at least just fun to watch!
(Edit: I didn't specify but you should aim to give leaves that are as fresh, green and healthy as possible. I just give them the slightly less green ones if I can because I try not to spoil my mom's plants HAHA)
To give some context: Oleander hawk moths (daphnis nerii) frequently lay eggs on my mom's desert roses. The leaves are toxic but the caterpillars are immune o: It's really cool seeing them through their life cycle.

While the caterpillars might be seen as pests as they ravage your plants, daphnis nerii is a pollinator of many flowers. I keep them under my care so that people don't destroy them!
They also eat a range of different flowers, not limited to adenium genus. Such as, pinwheel jasmine and periwinkle. You can research a bit to find out more (:
