I really like Crawford i think he is great! But if you have a guy like Usyk that was undisputed at both Cruserweight and now as Heavyweight and still is not consideres as the best pound-for-pound then we better just say that the pound-for-pound is not applicable to Heavyweights

Alexander Usyk: Worlds first 3 weight undisputed champion at Bridgerweight. Thoughts?
@reessoft9416
@reessoft9416 6 күн бұрын
As far as i know only the WBA and wbc have a bridgerweight belt, and i'm not sure if the wba even have a champion yet. Usyk already weighs less than the bridgerweight limit, and i'm sure he'd beat okolie. Technically I suppose he'd be "undisputed", but with only two belts available I doubt usyk would find it worthwhile. Why bother with okolie when he's already got 3 wins against fury and joshua.

Usyk should be #1 on pound for pound list. He just beat big names, that outweigh him by a lot. Then Crawford at #2. Inoue is dominant in a lower weight class with less talent. He hasn't fought anyone great. He just got dropped by some guy recently, that is not dominant.
@reessoft9416

you were going well until you started dismissing inoue. "He hasn't fought anyone great" You've obviously never head of donaire. He's also beaten top calibre fighters like fulton, tapales, and nery, and stopped every one of them. He got dropped by nery. So what. It's boxing - pretty much everyone gets dropped at some point. He got back up, dropped nery 3 times, and stopped him.

@@reessoft9416 Nonito Donaire wasn't a great fighter. Also when Inoue fought him he was almost 37 years old, he was ancient for a boxer in that weight class. Yet Inoue struggled with him in the first fight that went to a decision. Donaire even hurt his orbital bone.

I despise this recent trend to constantly revisit the P4P. THAT ISN'T AND HAS NEVER BEEN WHAT THE POUND FOR POUND MEANS. THAT ISN'T WHAT IT IS FOR. The pound for pound isn't a career legacy list. The thought experiment is, "who is the best boxer in the world, pound for pound". If you made them all the same size, who would be the best. Now it is all fucked up. It is like a lifetime achievement list. Usyk has been great on every level amateurs, european, worlds, Olympics, super series, move to heavy weight, on and on and on. Straight up, he's a winner. For sure, 100%. His Legacy is incredible, his career retrospective is unmatched. First ballot hall of famer, people should tell their grandkids about him in forty years. He's a beast, he deserves all the "one of the 2 or 3 best cruiserweights ever" & "best heavyweight of his era" accolades. Heap praise on him and his career accomplishments. Everyone should. But that doesn't make the man pound for pound one of the best boxers in the world. You don't need a decade of film study, a deep understanding of the sweet science of boxing, or even to be particularly bright to watch an Usyk fight, watch Lomachenko fight and come to the conclusion that Lomachenko is the more skilled technician out there. He's a better boxer. You don't even need particularly clear eyesight. Lomachenko has more tools in his tool box, he is polished, I mean expertly skilled, in aspects of footwork, for example, or, say, countering on the inside & sticking around in the pocket while staying defensively responsible. Hitting and not getting hit. Loma has mastered skills that Usyk hasn't ever shown. I'd say they are almost playing different sports, but cruiserweights and heavyweights are just playing a slower dumbed down version of the same sport. The fighters don't have flushed out skill sets, or the same level of "tricks in their bag"; what they have is the constant danger of getting smacked by dudes that big. They have that kind of excitement. But, there isn't a heavyweight, or cruiserweight alive who you can shrink down to 135lbs, and put that particular set of skills against Lomachenko or Shakur and have a close fight. That's nonsense. Boxers in the lower weights have to solve for problems heavyweights just don't encounter. If you think I'm not making sense or my arguments don't hold water, revisit this fight, in its entirety immediately after watching the upcoming Bam Rodriguez vs Estrada fight. I'm not even going to cherry pick a good fight for comparison, because EVEN IF RODRIGUEZ VS ESTRADA UNDERPERFORMS (if it sucks, total dud, snooze fest), my point will be made. If you watch them back to back, it will be glaringly obvious through comparing these title fights that the better boxers, i.e. the more skilled practitioners of the craft will be the little guys. And that is when comparing a great heavyweight fight, an instant classic, a unification fight between two of the top three greatest boxers at heavyweight in this era. Versus what? A title fight between a couple of dudes who are pretty good at 118 or 122 or whatever, not the point. Watch those fights back to back and explain to me how any heavyweight (excepting that evolutionary anomaly of Ali, the version that fought Big Cat Williams) belongs on a P4P best list of boxers based on the skills they possess. It is nonsense.

@@paulievespucci6867 The whole boxing world knew that Dubois “low blow” was a legal shot. Should have been stopped. Usyk is great, the 2nd best in the world, but he did not dominate Joshua or Fury. Dubois delivered a low blow - Usyk went down immediately. That's always a sign of a low blow. A legal body shot usually results in a delayed reaction. Take a look at Garcia against Davis, and Kambosos vs Loma. "Usyk got a split decision against Fury," You're twisting the facts to try and justify your own narrative. Usyk won by at least 7-5, maybe 8-4. Metcalfe was one of the few people who actually had Fury winning. Being p4p number 1 is based on a body of work, not just one fight, anyway. Crawford's last fight was last July. A lot has happened since then, and Usyk has done enough to supplant him as number one.
@andrechezlewis
@andrechezlewis 6 күн бұрын
@@reessoft9416 That’s the nature of the heavyweight division. He is a small heavyweight, but he’s around 230 lbs., meaning he has the power to knock out any man. Crawford is not going to ever fight someone that much heavier because he’s only around 150lbs.
