No, hitting on the belt is allowed. A low blow is under the waist line. It was clearly not. The belt was high in his waist. Not under. They are lying saying that Usyk was hit in balls. Let that sink in....

It was clearly a low blow. What was interesting was the way Usyk got angry and began pounding Dubois all over the place. That suggest to me the low blow controversy was Dubois's only claim to having a chance to winning the fight. Usyk is a master and a deserved hall of famer. Remarkable engine and a fantastic champion.

If you hit below the naval(which he did) its low! He hit the man on the side of the bladder. You cant just punch people's bladders in professional boxing then claim you got robbed. This same man said he would headbutt Usyk to win if needs be. And we expect him to then punch clean? I dont think so. The whole time he kept aiming low with down facing punches.

@wendellwright2519 because anything below the belly button is considered low. There is no muscle there to protect that area as much as there is above it. Its illegal to punch in that area. Dubois after Usyk got knocked down, continued to throw straight and down facing punches below the belt. He even landed another low blow which the ref did nothing about. Dubois was not penalised for any of it. It was done deliberately by him. And lets face it...if he was that great he would have knocked down Usyk legally. Yet he took 2 knees in separate rounds.

Below that line is your bladder & reproductive organ. The ref only emphasizes the beltline but both teams try to remember where the belly button is while the shorts isn't moving up & down yet before round1. Remember that a fighter's beltline shorts is moving up or down while fighting that's why it's unreliable to make it as the line of concern. Hell, even the fighters themselves try to push the beltline down whenever they feel the need to breathe hard because it's in the way

Watched, rewinded, paused 32 times, the glove definitely touches below the belt. Daniel bringing back the belts would have been fantastic for UK Boxing, but fell short on this occasion. He was always in the fight and had a puncher's chance, but there's levels to this game

In these sports, as in many others, punches must not be struck below the opponent's navel, as it is deemed unfair and contrary to sportsmanship." there's no blemishes above his belly button, he got hit below it you can even see the cup move in the damn replay... don't matter where the trunks are don't matter what your opinion of "below the beltline" means to you, its an illegal blow, written before you where even born and ref made a call on it ... I suggest you casuals read up on the rules before you carry on watching anymore of this sport because you're gonna ruin it for yourself if you keep this up.

My 2 cents : If you go frame by frame you can see that the final destination of the punch coud be subject of discussion but the first impact is clearly a low blow and as it's an uppercut, it has a down to up trajectory. The picture that Usyk's manager shows is the first impact and therefore a low blow and the other pic we see by Dubois's people is the final destination of the punch (forgetting what it hit during its down to up trajectory...)

The scariest part of all this is that there are fighters out there, big names, calling him a cheater like he has influence on the decision (which imo was correct). These guys should know better. Like, it's fine if online casuals call him a cheat all over the web, it really is. But these guys? Cmon man. For everyone still doubting the decision: Check the original clip, check the scene in this video when he lifts his shirt and then think about where your own bladder is. That punch didn't even land right below the belly button. There was quite the space between Usyk's belly button and the spot where Dubois' punch landed. You guys need to keep it real. It was a low blow.

Dubois said in advance he would fight dirty. The rules of boxing are clear. The blow landed mainly in the shorts and was not even borderline or debatable. The ref did the right thing. Dubois was lucky not to get a DQ. He ended up getting schooled and KOd.

I have watched many boxing fight and its always the same as of this case that all referees will punish this as a low blow as per the role, and there were no complaint. This time there is complaint from Dubois just because this is a big fight and Dubois does no have clear understanding on the role of low blow, in addition that he was always trying to hit Usyk on the same spot which means he has already planned it! This is not good for Dubois

Frank Warren should certainly know better, so should Don Charles, Daniel seems somewhat naive and seems to just follow what Uncle Frank and Uncle Don say. Daniel can't really say he was robbed, given that he had ALREADY been given a warning by the referee to keep his shots up after he hit Usyk in the almost the same exact spot just 2 rounds earlier!

That looked very close and more towards under the belly button so definitely the punch landed towards the lower Abdominals/Navel so it was illegal. It does not matter if people think or say it looked clean etc....rules of boxing clarify its a dont hit area. For someone like Dubios to hit that low im not surprised Usyk took his time to recover.

It seemed to me that it was a low blow, but not so low as to be deliberately dirty tactics. Just three inches higher and it would've been fine and wouldve still troubled Usyk I imagine. It was right to be counted as low, but not fair to call Daniel a dirty fighter because of it. He is no Andrew Golota.

Usyk shorts / belt was above the belly button. Watch the fight closely and you will see. Based on that info... it was a legitimate body shot. The ref should have ordered usyk to lower the belt line below the belly button

The beltline isn’t what determines it, it’s where your belly button (navel) is. The ref is supposed to inspect where each fighters beltline is landing before the fight and tell them what is going to be considered low for them depending on how high they wear the trunks/belt line

Let me make this clear for everyone since a bunch of casuals just seem to like coming up with your own interpretations of the rules, as stated by any credible source online regarding the term below the belt line ""below the belt refers to all the area of the body that lies below the line of the opponent's navel,[1] including the genital area, legs, and crotch. In these sports, as in many others, punches must not be struck below the opponent's NAVEL, as it is deemed unfair and contrary to sportsmanship." Notice how they didn't say anything about the trunks, they said "NAVEL" don't matter how high your trunks are sitting or how low you're squating non of that matters ... If you know what the Navel is then you know that was a low blow ... and its clear as day, in the replay, the ref called it and now we have proof of concept thanks to Usyk showing us and an ass whooping to boot after the fact ... Usyk was still in pain and DD couldn't capitalize on it even when the ref didn't deducted points for it DD failed ... even if the ref started the count this man would have been back up on his feet maybe gave up that round and gone right back to what was going to happen anyways ... this fight didn't end in UD with Usyk on his bicycle it ended with a TKO after knocking him down already and thats not because the ref made a call you have some sort of "opinion" over, its because DD got painted and dropped with a fucking jab so stop with the BS.

Did the shot hit the genital area, probably not, was the punch below the navel,it certainly seems so. What is more Daniel Dubois landed a shot in almost the same area of Usyk's body in round 3, the ref stopped the action and warned Daniel to keep his shots up. So if the ref felt that area of the body was a low shot in round 3, then he is almost certainly going to rule any knockdown in that same area as a low blow, and that is indeed what he did. Daniel says he got robbed and should be world champion , but what type world heavyweight champion gets dropped twice and stopped in the next 4 rounds by a boxer who Daniel Dubois says was not a genuine heavyweight? Sorry Daniel, but I'd give you more respect if you just accepted the refs decision and give Usyk the respect he deserves as a supreme world champion boxer.

The heavyweight shot grazed the cup coming upwards and landed half the glove on the beltline half the glove below. He landed multiple punches half half like that during the match. I was surprised at Bradley's commentary honestly.

Let me help you all- the definition of low blow is “below the naval”. Ok so how do you define that? The key word is BELOW and the rules go on to say it is defined as “GENITALS, CROTCH or LEGS” So which did he get hit in- genitals? Crotch or legs? Usyk knows these rules full well- which is why this morning he has claimed he was punched “in the balls”.

I had usyks winning the fight but lets not play games here, in the fight you couldn't even see usyk belly button because his boxing chunks was over his belly line, you can go back and see the fight. Usyk got knocked down by a legal shot, uysk a great boxer but him and his team are looking like bad liar's right now..

I know in the amateurs that would have been called a low blow - no two ways about it. The problem with professional boxing is they never clearly define it. Some referees say the waist band is not low and some say it is. This cant be left up to the referees fkn discretion any longer. The boxing commission has to define a low blow and make it crystal clear so there will be no more controversies like this.

Unfortunately for Daniel training to beat Usyk with that punch was going to create controversy because that is a borderline punch, where the decision could have gone either way if the ref ruled it a legal punch then Daniel would be fighting Fury but unfortunately it went Usyk's way, but in the end Daniel got out classed so if Daniel won it because of that punch it could have also been controversal.

Low blow is below waistline/belt line not belly button. When the trunks are high over the belly button then the belt line is legal. The waistline is about 2 inches under the bellybutton. The punch was legal. Crazy how supposed "professionals" conveniently don't know what you learn in the amateurs

That's the cumulative effect of connected blows to the head. In later rounds, it takes relatively little force to knock someone down. It's all about the skill.

The photo shows the point of impact or the knuckle placement: The thumb was at the belt, and everything else was below. The glove was not touching any bit of skin. That is a low blow.

Any boxes ever been hit on the belt & the ref says “fight on” 🙋♂️. Your balls aren’t on your belt. The belt line covers your belly button, typically. I see how both sides could be right, it’s an interesting grey area at the discretion of the ref. But I’ve never heard “you can’t get hit on the trunk line” in any fight. Our trunk line is not our genitals. Our belly button, is not our genitals. If you get hit in the belly button, you just got hit in your stomach, not your nuts.

Usyk reminds me of like a loma he likes to get angles and beat you with his feet but if you have an affected jab know your distance to prevent him getting angles and putting pressure to the body then you can beat usyk.
