Yep. If you’ve been out and about using the light without the case and the cell is well drained then reuniting it with the case and using whilst charging would be a big plus.

I'm confused as to what your applied parameters are? This isn't a tactical light for "chips down" situations. They make different lights for that. The Baton lights are small edc lights for use in tight spaces, as pocket lights, or as hands free hat lights or stuck to a metal surface. It's currently a $70 light system at its introductory price. (You buy olights during the monthly sales.) And I'm also only counting 3 moving moving parts between the case and flashlight. (2 buttons and the hinged case lid.) So... not sure how that many parts is "too many". This improved Baton 4 case has backwards compatibility with several of Olights other existing small edc lights as well as the ability to work as a Power Bank to charge other devices like a phone. As well as several other quality of life improvements like being able to control the brightness setting of the Baton 4 while it's plugged in or more acurately display the current remaining charge. (Things the Baton 3 case also couldn't do.) It's overall a very nice upgrade for a EDC light system. It gives those who didn't previously carry a power bank extra capability... and maybe allows anyone who did have a small power bank and the Baton 3 case to perhaps have one less thing in their kit.

Probably not my "go to" flashlight for a SHTF scenario, but great for a double purpose. Power bank and compact flashlight.
