i agree he's definitely found his calling and is absolutely blessed by God. i'm a pretty big time Christian (morning devotionals every day + praying throughout the day and repenting of my sins that i unfortunately commit, even if it's just in my head. i get angry sometimes and the first thing i do is pray for relief from that anger). God saved my life from heroin addiction 11 years ago and i didn't even deserve it. He died for me. I live for Him first above all other things. i'm stoked to see what Oliver comes up with next because i think he's a good dude. he got a little caught up in that massive fame he got overnite and that is absolutely understandable. I think he's great. 😎

Hello friend you just told my story in your comment. Just passed the 10 year mark clean from Heroin last month on February 7th. Without Jesus I know I would have spent the rest of my life hooked on smack being the lying manipulating wretched drug addict thief I had been for so many years. Through the blood of Jesus Christ I have been set free when he laid his life down upon that cross,an underserving sinner saved by Jesus. I still have struggles but not lke I once did and I'm happy to say that this coming Easter Sunday I am going to be baptized, something I should have done long ago. I'm sorry to ramble on so long in response to your comment but it's great to hear someone speak of being in the dark place I was and I'm sure you were as well and to now be Karen's and living for him.God bless you my friend I hope you have a wonderful Easter you and your family friends and loved ones.

He,s like a lightning rod, drawing in our minds n emotions n becoming a catalyste for all of us to tap into our inner hero n just make a strong n peaceful difference. When I first heard him,not in quality as much but spirit n essence of the strength of someone like Paul Robeson , like many folk heros often men n women for a time, may he truly be humble n draw close to God,as we all desperately need this

I don't understand why people think famous people owe anyone constant, unending work. What would you do if an enormous amount of completely new work was dumped on you. Most folks don't understand what it's like logistically getting everything together to go on tour- not to mention hiring all the employees to do everything. This is why so many artists get trapped in contracts- they offer to do everything. If you haven't been awake at 4am making sure enough band t-shirts arrived on time, got sorted and loaded in trailers, then driven however many hours to jump out of a vehicle and start setting up the merchandise table... And that's one of a thousand things that 100% made the man wish he'd just stayed back in the woods and did what he enjoyed, just with a little more money to give him some breathing room. Fame is something everyone dreams of until they're jumped on by paparazzi snapping photos when they take out the trash. The very famous live in fortresses surrounded by security, fly private not just for the privacy but because of all the people who just seem to be absolutely necessary (a personal assistant to book hair appointments or whatever- it's like heated seats in cars. You think, that's silly, we've never had those before and then you get them and think, "this is nice". Those little comforts creep on you til they become "necessities".) There's A LOT to being rich and famous that being an ordinary person doesn't understand. And going there overnight (at least to us- Anthony's been playing music a very long time to be that good) can give you some serious shock. Let the man go off somewhere quiet and get his heart straight. Then enjoy him when he's ready. Trust me- you're going to want to do that if you want him to last. His sobriety is only months old. He NEEDS more down time than he's getting- ALL creative people need that, but addiction and stress are toxic companions. Support him for what he's already given us. Those songs are already gifts. If he disappeared now, he would still have given us so much.

Lets not all forget that hes stated many times that he suffers from depression. Just because hes famous now doesnt mean that those feelings and stressors just up and disappear. Sure hes got more money so one would think that he doesnt have to worry about financial woes anymore. But thats not always the case. Having money can be extremely stressful in other ways. Between people and their manipulative tactics guilting you into giving them money. To possibly allowing the wrong person you think you can trust missmanaging or even embezzling your money! Then theres the pressure from fans to keep producing new songs that outdue the previous music released! Some souls even if they are amung those who love constantly being around large groups of people all the time. Are still gonna need down time to themselves. He strikes me as A vary kind generous soul who's been beaten down by the system and bad people. And when youve been betrayed and taken advantage of so many times in the past. You develope barriers around yourself to try and mitigate anyone ever being able to get the best of you again. Sometimes those boundaries are abit over the top but its whatever you feels necessary to protect yourself! Not saying these things are why we havent seen him lately. I just think they are things to consider. Ya know he blewup over night and went from not really be known to everyone knows his face. And for A simple guy who enjoys the simple things in life like nature. Being bombarded by people everywhere he goes. Initself has gotta be stressful. Then theres the midigating who is and isnt his friend in the music industry and everywhere else? Cause i guarentee you there are those from the establishment that he sings about. That would love nothing more than to destroy his career and his life, and theyve got the money and the power to do so by employing bad actor's who consequently are rather good actor's to help facilitate just that! So then the potential paranoia has to take up atleast part of his headspace! "It shouldn't be that way for sure! But thats the unfortunate reality of the world we live in these days!" So back to my original statement of his depression! Maybe hes just fine and just needs some time to decompress thoughtfully think about things and how theyve changed, how the people around him even those hes known A long time have changed, and how all this has changed him. We all know there's horrible shit in this world that makes us question humanity! And when your travelling all around the world touring. You all of A sudden get directly exposed to some of those atrocities! Again this is all still speculated theories and likelihoods I myself have considered. So i guess what im really trying to say is maybe we shouldnt be so hard on him expecting him to make himself readily available to us for our enjoyment. Cause at the end of the day hes a person just like us with needs just like ours. There have been too many great artist's in the world who are sadly no longer with us. Cause the corporate and public pressures put on them in a various different ways. Ended up being just too much for them to handle. Hes definitely A great one. So lets respect his privacy and be grateful for the privilege of the music hes given us in the meantime......

I feel like you're making excuses for O Anthony there. I mean, look at tool. Maynard is 60 years old. They just toured five years straight on Fear Inoculum , While headling the festival last year. And now, in less than a month, Maynard goes back out with Puscifer and a perfect circle. Hank Williams Junior is almost 75 years old and still selling out arenas and playing almost every week. The warning without any help. Those three girls with the country against them have been putting in work more than almost any artist I've ever seen. And they are climbing to the top, scratching and clawing without millions of views in two months. Oliver Anthony sang a song about not wanting people to tell him how to think and how to live and what to do and what to say. And then every song after that, he starts promoting an institution that like it or lump it. Does all of those things more than any other institution in the world? And he wants to talk about taxes. They have more money than any other industry. They pay no taxes at all. Oh, but they do all these good things, like angel tree. Yeah, they write a name on a piece of paper, and the congregation buys all the presents. And that's the church. Oliver Anthony had an agenda. Where was all that Bible belt preaching in the first song that got him all the views? Just something to think about.
