I doubt the veracity of this. Reed was well known to be a consumnate professional who astounded people with his ability to stay up all night drinking, yet appear on set the next morning, on time, and deliver exactly what was required.

You had me in stitches with this story mate 😂 Such a character was Oliver Reed, brilliant actor and so well spoken but a right bugger after a drink! I saw him on the Johnny Carson show where he was making chauvinist comments and the American actress Shelly Winters poured a glass of whiskey over his head! Another chat show I saw as well where he was clearly plastered, rubbing guests up the wrong way and was asked to leave 😂😂 Love your channel Ray 🥊

Pure fantasy story ! Oliver Reed was never drunk on film sets, he was the consummate professional while filming, John Bindon was an extra in most things he did, only had minor parts so wasnt really a main player in anything, In fact the truth is John bindon was notorious for trying to slow the production down of films he was involved in as he was always paid a day rate as he was only a bit player going as far as stealing scripts and filming schedules to put a halt to production which caused him to be underused and his career stalling, however Oliver Reed had a successful film career which wouldnt have been achievable if he had been pissed on set all the time, get your facts right guys.

You should write a book jammed packed with these stories or work with a ghostwriter on them. The public love this kind of behind the scenes "fly on the wall" stuff. However, like all drunks, Reed was a pain in the arse, needlessly aggresive, and a bore--but a tormented soul. They all are. They descend into Hell with during black out drinking and cause irreparable damage to their children and wives/girlfriends, none of whom have amusing anecdotes to tell about any of it. Any book should make this clear. -Kevin Whelan
