The ultimate example of this is this match between World Champion Tommasso Marini and Team World Champion Kazuki Iimura.
They each demonstrate adaptation tactically to fence to their opponent's strengths and weaknesses, with Marini scoring a lot of stop hits and using his long arm and reach advantage, whereas Iimura scores multiple hits in close quarters and using explosive running and fleche atacks.

It's not quite as exciting as iimura i have to agree, but Marini is the strongest men's foilist right now 😤💪

@@dzfz2100 ye, but that’s why he’s good (don’t like his style either) but he’s better than every other tall fencer on the circuit rn (no front miles)
