Can I just point out that this was the FIRST EVER Olympic Gold for British Women's Rowing. Plenty of silvers in the preceding decade, but no Golds until this race

My family and I were at Centerparc in Elveden at the time, I had just been into the country club to buy drinks and I was watching this race on the monitors, I rushed outside to say that we had won a gold medal, the first, I think, of 2012.

Being that this was the official IOC feed broadcast internationally to countries all over the world (read: not BBC) I'd expect the commentator to call the race at the end and not just his country's entrant. That's all I'm saying...

Horrible commentator...he goes on and on about the leaders and completely ignores the INSANE battle for second and third between Australia, New Zealand and USA...
