I think the magic of the 80's is that great songs like this from that era have this ability to have such a strong association of a very specific time and place in people's lives because they are so good and have so much meaning. I don't think kids today will say the same of a Kesha song when they reach 42 yrs old.

The public and young kiddies in particular are looking back to the 80's and liking what they hear. It's the decade that has been cruelly overlooked by the fashion rather than the tunes. Bands like OMD, Blue Nile, Talk Talk, Thomas Dolby, Gary Numan, Japan, Tears For Fears, Ultravox, Aztec Camera and so many more had great songs that still stand up !

I was born in 91 and i managed to fall in love with the 80's now! Red Dawn, Short Skirts, New Wave, Everything about the 80's is so great! Today's music for the most part, IS THE WORST! I wish they'd take lessons from the 80's. It'd be a lot better of a music scene :') This is some good music from the heart!

I love this song and boy does it bring back memories!! I remember having recorded this on cassette and played this on my walkman when I was flying to then West Germany in summer of 1986. Man, 16 years old and going for 6 weeks on a foreign exchange, seems like yesterday. Always remember hearing this when I was flying over there and looking at the sun rising on the horizon.

Agreed. Great song. I've never heard of OMD in the 80's until this song came on scene. They had a string of great hits in the 80's, it's a shame when people talk about 80's music, this band is often never mentioned.

I remember hunting out Electricity back in 1979 from first hearing it on a late night radio show age 16. And this song reminds everytime I hear it of driving my new XR3i along the hill tops of Somerset England. God how the time has flown by! but so glad I grew up trough the 80s one of the best decades ever. Got to see them in concert again in 2007 and they were just as good as when I saw them trough the 80s. Quailty Group! Nikki

In the 70´s and 80´s we were riding a wave of love and need for freedom and peace - born in the 60´s and drawn from the shadow of the nuclear fear from the second world war... we were so naive and the surf was clean... a deep felt respect to every person who fought and lost their lives for freedom - so I can breathe freely today...
