i was involved in making this movie and the cast and crew were mostly untrained volunteers, only the main actors and director and camera operators were skilled. I played many bit parts and I am "Bad Bob", the guy trying to buy guns from Troy Donahue. It was alot of fun to make it out in an onion farm outside Stockton, CA.

@@OlDirtyGamer- Thanks, Old. I used the quick zooms to put some life into the scenes, copying The Wild Bunch. But used no zoom in my new movie Forbidden Power. Yes, zooms can be tacky if not used right or too many times.

I love Adam West's line delivery in the introduction. I had to google search what a "Tarnapple Fishnet" was until I realized he was saying "Torn Up Old Fishnet".

I feel sorry for Travis. Forced to be the only man in an apocalyptic world, to live by a large beautiful lake in the mountains, surrounded by dense forest and all he has to keep him company is 3 gorgeous, nubile, coeds. I sure am glad this is fiction because I just don't know what I would do if I had to give up my 9 to 5, debt, taxes, etc. and live his life.

I know I'm 8 years too late to make this comment, but as much as I loved the Pinto joke, that's more likely a Ford Maverick that gets blown up in the scene at 03:40 :D

It's definitely a Maverick. I had 2 of them. It got unfairly lumped in with bad cars like the Pinto and Vega, but there was nothing particularly wrong with them. They used the same engines and transmissions as 60s Mustangs. I'd love to have a Maverick now.

This was a fun movie to watch and to act in... I was one of the scavengers/stuntmen and had a ball being part of this... bad acting and all. This was my only acting credit where I got to see my name in lieu of compensation. Pretty cool....

GBF would you ever consider doing an episode about how movies like this become sustainable? I know how movies that play in theaters make money, but how do budget films like this make the money back and become profitable? I've always wondered about that.

+dirtnastyish hmmm...good idea, I may just do that. The main reason these end up being sustainable it through distribution deals, video sales, and cable deals. Theres more to it but that is a good chunk. If I can put together a proper thesis, I'll make a video. :)

I think it had mostly to do with there being less options to have movies to be viewed by people. You could either watch a vcr (bought or rental), or watch it on tv. This meant that companies had more of an assured income since getting the movies illegally was much harder back then. I don't think it's a coincidence that most 'story' porn movies like Pirates etc were made aplenty back then as well, since they knew they'd had a good chance of people buying the vcr and vcr's getting bought by rental stores.

Technical correction: they mess with exposure, and possibly contrast. White Balance makes picture more blue/amber, green/red.

The producer got us some German film stock which I think gave it the look as well. I wasn't there for the solar flare exposure witch was done in the lab.

I really, realllllly want a Post Apocalyptic movie with a huge budget that has all the cool shit from the old days. Mutants, giant bugs, etc. Video games as well. Speaking of which, Wasteland 2 is coming later this year or early next!

So around 9:30 the sound disappears. I've watch this episode more then once. So all I can do is thank KZfaq wacky copyright policy or maybe it's completely misunderstood fair use rules. I was watching some auto restoration channel and the audio goes away and this is a channel that doesn't use clips, or dubs in music. Maybe it was an edit mistake but I'm noticing it more. It stinks, I feel like channels like yours are breathing in life to old art that is beginning to be forgotten

Ha ha ha, so many things wrong with this but I loved that the car blew up from the inside after having a grenade threw at it, I guess it was a homing grenade then. Funny how grenades always blow stuff up in movies, when in reality they just explode shrapnel. Same with bullets, i've never known lead to ignite anything, let alone spark!

Thanks for saying, Blood. We had a great time making it and took it very seriously. We were lucky that Crown took it and opened it in 50 theaters the same week in Southern California. My 2018 movie, Forbidden Power won 38 film-place international awards. Some of the Death Machines & Omega Cop crew worked on it.

Great to get your message at 3am here in Japan as I'm watching Del Torro talk about movies. In 2018, five of my film school friends and me flew to Seattle to make Forbidden Power. George C. Romero mentions this on his short video on my page. It won 38 film festival. I took a big risk making it, but it turned out better than I dreamed. It's on amazon for 2 bucks.
