Back when i was in middle school we had similar things, but it was a bit more public video chat rooms, Omegle is a bit more dangerous since it is one on one. At least you can just skip. In any case good on kris to tell kids to be safe and stuff, since not everyone has parents to explain to them that.

People just don't use it like that. Kris is being selfish (win-win) because she is gaining followers. Bare in mind that the win can be material or non-material. Selflessness says you should lose out in order to be moral. It's what people believe in.
