I love it that she is not attached to how beautifully she just sang - so she doesn't get upset that the recording got lost - and she is ready to sing again. There is no need to chase the song - she is the song, ready to give herself in the new now.

It's like her sister was all the shit that wears down your passion for something and the guy in the park is a symbol for a special person that comes along and rekindles that lost passion. It's a really well told story about relationships, imo.

+George Hodges Wait a second there, her sister is someone who cares about her, and only wants good things for her. She wants her to have a job and be successful, and not take a gamble on a career that probably won't pan out. She took the time to make plans with her sister and follow through. She's the one getting ditched here. Keep in mind, that Mary's character in the beginning is basically hibernating in the dark after an all nighter. She's bent out of shape and distant towards her own family. Her sisters comparison is completely fair. She may have been a little harsh towards her, but what do you expect from your blood? If they aren't honest with you, they aren't doing you any favors. I gotta point out too, ditching your friends and family who have made the time and arranged to do things with you, even in the pursuit of your 'passions', is a selfish action. That's why she's depressed in the first place.
@christineparis56076 жыл бұрын
evbb You are so obviously NOT an artist. Someone who comes over and finds a family member tired, dispirited and working through a knotty problem on a creative level, and who responds by shrieking like a rabid parrot before slamming out the door, is not looking out for anyone's best interests but their own. Only a smug, self righteous prig gets off on compounding someone else's obvious depression in the name of "love". ugh.
