EXPLANATION: basically what this MV is about shows the relationship between kpop idols and their fans. Kpop entertainment companies create this idea that kpop idols are your friends and that they exist for you, and they’ll do whatever you want them to. So Hanni being an iPhone, saying she exists and does everything for US. Danielle is the one that’s like giving them a reality check she’s saying like “Guys! We’re NewJeans, we’re not what everyone says we are”. Minji is one of the “doctors” but she’s also the ones “collecting” all of the members in the ambulance, but later on, she takes herself to the ambulance. When NJ debuted people would say that Haerin looks like a cat, hence the grey cat. Hyein is a princess who dies because of a bear attack, people say Hyein looks like a princess, etc. At the end where we see a person commenting “I’m uncomfortable with the MV materials just show their faces and dance” was supposed to show the toxicity behind kpop idols and their fans. (Toxic) Fans just wanna see their idols dance and look cute, but idols are human, they’re not objects we can use for entertainment. The SONG however is about them liking someone, having a crush on someone. It shows the contrast between what fans WANT them to sing about VS reality.

NewJeans are a masterpiece of a group, you’ll see nothing like them not hear anything like this! They’re on a different level! Glad that their so rapidly dominating kpop

I really love NewJeans and what they're doing, their music videos are always very insightful and their music and them as people are just amazing. Someone already explained the meaning to this, i can't remember if you watched Ditto... but if you haven't then you should both sides a and b.

They have gone insane trying to become what their fans wanted to be. Hanni trying to please the fans thinks is an iPhone, hearing is known for looking like a cat so she is shows to think she is one, hyein is the youngest and was a model since she was a kid even got to do runway modeling so she thinks she is a princess, minji is the oldest and in K-pop the oldest always has the expectation to take care of the members that’s why she thinks she’s a doctor when she’s not. While Danielle was also insane since she was laughing at a blank TV Danielle is known for having a bubbly personality she’s always laughing and now she felt like she had to do it even when she didn’t have to. This MV portrays their desire to please the fans but in the end they lost themelsves to juts become what the fans want them to be. Also at the end where you see a fan writing in a computer that’s a hater however it’s funny because they also seem to be mentally ill since minji goes to get them to stop. This just symbolizes how people that hate on other people should recheck themselves Also this video is connected to ditto. Ditto came in first then OMG so OMG has clips of ditto at the end. They both have interesting storylines so I recommend you guys listen to it. It also has a very nostalgic vibe I’m sure you guys will like it. Ditto has two sides(side A and side B) I recommend you guys watch both in order to get the message
