@@mike_t_007 Nothing can beat the audio play back through the headphone jack. And when I'm creating films the audio capture, even when using external mics have superior audio playback.The SD card support when I'm moving 4K files is something we all sorely miss. Look how awkward it is to use an external drive on the new iPhones.

The tmobile variant also has an update. Updated it late last night. And looking at it, Pixel has better video and some pictures are better, but the G8 still holds up.

Maybe it's just me, but the LGG8 pics looked better and sharper than the 7 pros. Amazing longevity! The camera can still compete with any today! Still grateful for my investment into this cool phone in 2019! Going strong with Android 12 too! Great vid Eazy!

Thank you for alerting us to the LG G8's Android 12 update. Greatly appreciated. I bought the G8 from T-Mobile brand-new in April 2019 for $309 in a great promo deal. In 2020 T-Mobile comped me the V60 and I still kept the G8, which I still use as a backup, dashcam, gimbal video recorder, and media consumption device. If I lost my V60, the G8 would revert to bring my daily driver. In fact, if I'm going to be active, out and about, I pop out my SIM from the V60 and put it in the G8. The size and weight on the G8 are compelling. My only issue--albeit minor--has been battery life. It gets me a solid 8 hours a day of heavy use. That said, since new the G8's battery health has only degraded 5%, down to 95%. Even better, most of the time I run it in Battery Saver mode, giving me at least 4 more hours. If the G8's battery ever needs replacement, I pony-up the $69 for a new one, installed. As for the update to Android 12...its much snappier...and I had zero speed issues before. I was fine with Android 10 out of the box, and also the upgrade to Android 11. These updates aren't necessary...just give us frequent security updates. In-fact, I wish that manufacturers would have the option of security updates funded through Go Fund Me and even Patreon. How many flagships today have a rear fingerprint reader, external storage, 32-bit Hi-Fi QuadDAC, and 3D Face Unlock?

I still have LG G7 and Idk if it’s the SD Card it self but I can’t create folders in my SD card but might just save that for reference for a later device that I might get the LG V60 the last best of the best smart phone they ever made. I am excited for this phone since I’ve got my phone in late 2020 and I hope that it will last at least 5 years+ if LG wants to rise from their grave and want to make LG G9 or V70 would be a really nice revival. :3

T-Mobile G8 finally got Android 12 yesterday. It's on October 2022 security patch. Eazy, do you know if LG Screen+ (desktop mode) changed from Android 11 to Android 12? I'm not seeing a difference.

The last thing I need is another phone but the G8 is tempting. Get it for less than 100 bucks and it's really the last LG flagship with QHD and the capacitive fingerprint sensor. If I didn't already own three LG flagships I could probably justify it!

Unfortunately none of my gcam versions are any good I would just stick to pro mode or go on telegram, Reddit or XDA to find a gcam you like for years I've been trying to find a good gcam making a bunch of videos about it and they all suck so I don't recommend gcam anymore

The USB on my LGG8s is broken - and after years it seems to have some mor damages - but i cant find an actual device wich seems to be the best for me ... the Pixel 7 pro is my favorite but i hope to finde a brand new G8s sowhere in Europe - it was the best phone I ever had

My camera app hasn't been the most stable on my G8 😢. I've had videos come out choppy and have had some serious shutter lag when taking pictures. This isn't always the case but when it happens, it drives me crazy. Also, the memory management is definitely not nearly as optimized as it is on my pixel 6a. I find that apps close way faster when in the background and I also have issues with notifications from important apps like work email (Outlook and Blackberry Work)...issues that I haven't experienced on the pixel 6a which has the same amount of memory. If only LG had given this device the software love it deserved, it would have been absolutely amazing. I love the hardware and some of the software features the G8 offers but the experience, for me, is ruined by the lack of polish and software stability 😢

The G8 is worth getting in 2023 as your main flagship phone. Unless you're a heavy gamer, the G8 with its Snapdragon 855 processor flies.

I went from a v60 which I broke, back to my g8 and see no difference in speeds. This can definitely still be your main phone. The selfie camera isn't the best, the speaker quality could be better but it's an in-screen speaker which brings its own benefits. Other than that, still fast, good camera and video quality, great screen, good battery life.

Yeah the sprint v50 ( more like v45) is still on android 10. But having the v60 and g8 on A12, its beautiful. Keeping me in good conditions can still wow folks with their capabilities. Only thing s22 got in advantage is the zoom and the Spen. LG pro mode and quad dac still impresses folks. G8 is a great pocket/travel device. V60 is still a great work horse. Thank you truly Eric for keeping LG in some spotlight. Be well

I think this is IT for the G8, im not going to lie the sound on the G8 is crap, but the video is great i miss my G8. I think it will not get any more updates. LG is standing behind their word by supporting their phones for 3 or 4 years.
