I have a Seiko Bell-Matic. I bought this watch in Ontario some 55+ years ago. I still wear it once in a while. It keeps good time and the alarm still works. It was quite expensive for a young lad, I saved the money from shoveling driveways in the winter. I watch your presentations. They are excellent.

Got me hooked. So calming and slowly learning the bits and pieces. It’s repetitious in principle is such a calming way. Like watching a Japanese tea ceremony or Katana being made everything is so precisely done in the right order using the right tools and processes. When I first saw this watch my impression was of a cheap novelty watch. That initial impression soon changed when I learnt that it has an AS movement! Once finished it looked really great as well. Interesting to learn how all of Adolph's "children" have now been gathered together. Great job and presentation as always.

I loved watching you select the band. Black one, blah, another black one, blah, a third black one, still blah, and then POP! That grey band is just perfect for that watch, and it's not a color I would have thought of.

I love your videos! I had an old mechanical watch that was not working, so I decided to try to follow what you do. I am so proud of myself as I managed to take the entire movement apart first time round. I didn’t have a cleaner, so I washed it all in a tub of ipa, then I begun rebuilding it. And now I am the proud owner of several small tobacco tins full of the various parts of said watch, some of them I’m almost bloody sure had babies while out of the movement and multiplied vastly. The case and strap look amazing on my wrist with absolutely FARK all in the case! Ho hum…..just goes to show, you’re not just a great content provider, but a bloody clever bloke too!

Hey! I've had to do a fair bit of polishing and I would like to share a tip. When moving from one grit to the next, move the paper at an angle off from the angle of the previous paper. This highlights the scratches from the previous paper as well as decreases the amount of time needed to finish. Also, if polishing a flat surface, place the paper on a flat surface and polish on that rather than using your fingers. Not that you did a bad job, not in the least bit, but a nice trick to get that flat look, where the light reflection is not bent but more like a mirror.

When I first saw this watch I thought how ugly it was and how could we have worn such things, but after cleaning up the watch is actually quite beautiful and stylish. What an amazing job you do turning something we had discarded as junk turn into a beautiful watch that is quite is desirable to have! And that final choice of watch band was absolutely perfect! Beautiful sexy watch!

I own a Poljot with a mechanical alarm from 1991. It's a limited edition for the 100th birthday of the Transiberian Railroad. Sounds just like this.

Holy cow that's more complicated and complex a movement than I would dream possible. Outstanding work! It's a good thing I didn't see this kind of thing when I was a kid. I used to have a bad habit of disassembling things to see how they worked. I've seen this now and can say with supreme confidence this is beyond my comprehension.

That was an interesting video. When I saw this watch I immediately thought about the Memo Call swiss watch from the Seventies and expected it to be the same apart from the additional date complication, using the Ronda1223 movement, but surprisingly it looks a lot different. These are now selling for silly prices on eBay, both working and non working. Back in their day, this was a cheap watch! Thanks for a fascinating insight.👍

Ive never polished up an acrylic watch crystal before but im an expert! I use the same exact method (with diffrent compounds) for restoring headlights. And i finish with a ceramic coat to help keep it from fading. I believe the ceramic on the watch crystal might be a good touch as well!

Lovely work on a really interesting watch. I really enjoyed this rebuild and the problem solving around the chrome case. The crystal restoration must have taken a lot of time, those scratches were pretty deep. I admire your patience and your love for your craft. Blessings.

My first time watching you at work,wow! is all l can say. I had a Seiko Pogue Cronograph many years ago which could have used your tender touch but after replacing the winding crown 3 times(they kept snapping) l sold it to the watchmaker who did the repairs.

What a beauty you brought back to life! A real stunner as the Mad Watch Collector would say. The movement is so intricate, so many different parts. This morning I was working on a watch, a Cressi Manta diver with a Ronda 1 Jewel movement. I wasn't servicing the movement but for some reason the needles were not moving so on a lark I decided after changing the battery to take off the needles and put them back on to see if that would do something and low and behold, it started working again. Now my friend really abuses this watch as it is his tool watch, he is a PADI Course Director and is in the water with it nearly every day. The coating on the bezel is down to the metal and lots of scratches. I have to say every time I attempt to do something that I think is relatively simple I have greater respect for the talent you have. Just putting back those needles was a major pain but I got so much satisfaction from having done it myself. Out of curiosity what are the dimension specs on that watch?

Harry Cutts: I was just about to say exactly the same thing! When it was disassembled the parts were in some assemblance of order. But after washing, just tipping them out on the bench, just how do you know what spring is which or what screw fits what hole and thread (plus how long is it and how is the head configured - size/shape etc....). Extraordinary!

The person is a mechanical genius who invented this watch. Hat's off to the dissecting team who unraveled the mechanism of the watch. It was literally a surgery on the watch no 2 and brought it to the level of the creator. I wonder who purchased watch no 1. They did a choicest choice above Oyster Rolex and Seamaster from Omega. Watch no 2 is a Masterpiece.

I found this really interesting as my father had a Seiko bellmatic watch from the 70s or 80s,I always found it interesting then he gave it to me in the late 90s because it wanted a service which was a lot of money about £150 sounds it needed parts the anvil inside the watch had stopped working so that needed parts to fix it the glass was Plexiglas scratches all over it , other words a peace of junk at the moment I have still got it but doesn't work 🇬🇧👍🏻. Great show tonight my compadre good show 🇬🇧👍🏻

Dear Mr. Nekkid Watchmaker - I've just seen another watch refurbishment channel where they used a micro laser welder to fix a watch case that had some deep scratches. The repair was very impressive. I think you should purchase one of these machines and master its use, as it would add to you're already extensive repertoire of skills and save many original watch cases from the bin.
