Untot im Drachenboot (Undead on the Dragon Boat) yes please! Johanna plays a hurdy gurdy, the German name Drehleier translates to cranking lyre/ turning lyre. Thomas Winkler (green armor guy) from Switzerland was the lead singer of the british power metal band Gloryhammer from 2012 till 2021, under the stage name Angus McFife. He now has his own band Angus McSix which is also his new stage name. Saltatio Mortis is another German medieval folk rock & metal band, in this case represented by vocalist Alea der Bescheidene (Alea The Humble), the guy in black with the nice beard. The two fighting ladys, Mieze Musch-Musch (Kitty Puss-Puss) and Mieze Myu (Kitty Myow, Jenny from The Dark Side Of The Moon) are Feuerschwanz' regular dancers/ stage & video performers. For the video to Highlander, they took lessons from a stunt coordinator/ close combat instructor specialized in sword fighting!

That zombie song is Untot im Drachenboot (The English version is called Death on the Dragonship). They just released an album called Warriors where they have 2 new songs and 10 of their old song translated into english. The album is a celebration for their 20th anniversary. Over the last few years they did some amazing covers as well. [I highly recommend: Valhalla Calling, Ding, Hier Kommt Alex, Gimme gimme gimme, I see Fire, Dragostae Din Tei & Blinding Lights] but their bread and butter is the Medieval folk metal songs like Memenro Mori, Das Elfte Gebot, Bastard of Asgard, SGFRD Dragonslayer, Rohirrim, Krampus, Meister Der Minne, Kampfzweg (They realesed a video for Wardwarf - the english version) & Im Bauch des Wals. Also Hodi (the bagpipe player) has another band called dArtagnan. They recently released a video called Herzblut featuring ... you guessed it, Melissa Bonny.

Medieval/Folk/Viking Rock is a special genre that mainly exists in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. The world is currently discovering this music and I think that's great because I love this sound. Bands like Feuerschwanz, Saltatio Mortis or Ad Infinitum (Melissa Bonny) are among the big names, you won't go wrong if you dive deeper into them.

The guitar player here is Hans Platz. Hans met Melissa when she did guest voices for Feuerschwanz (song was Ding) and they kept in touch and created The Dark Side of the Moon together with Jenny who you can see fighting in this video and Morten who’s drums for Amaranthe Btw Saltatio Mortis is worth giving it a chance, try their cover of My mother told me for ex. Alea (long bearded guy) couldn't attend the original video shoot because of being in hospital. He videoed his part later on in another castle ruin... we have a lot of those here in germany ;) And about Melissas beautiful clear voice: She can pack a hell of a metal scream / growl if she want's to. You can get a glimpse of it in Feuerschwanz "Ding" cover.

This song always makes me smile and feel good. The vocals are just so good and that video is so entertaining. You can't stop watching. And, of course, Melissa Bonny is another of those kick ass metal singers. Thanks to Fred for suggesting this one.

Fware Schwanz. But pretty close actually, it gives all non Germans fits. For me this is one of the best collabs ever. It's a remake of a Manowar song but I actually prefer this. The axe maidens are actually dancers that perform full time with the band. Their schtick is pretty much medieval metal, but that doesn't keep them from covering modern stuff. And occasionally stuff like Abba. Great reaction!
