people have asked me what there is beautiful about sadness. this caught me off-guard. I thought, what isn't there beautiful about sadness? it's like the rain. it's inconvenient and sad, but it's beautiful. and then they told me about the reasons for being sad. they told me that was horrible, that wasn't pretty at all. they asked me, how can I find sadness beautiful, when suffering comes with it? and I thought, maybe I spent too much time in my sadness. maybe I've been sad for too long. maybe that's why I find sadness beautiful. happiness is great, but I can never stay in it for too long. sadness, though? I can stay there for years without getting bored. someone told me once to be careful with melancholy - it's a blessing and a curse at the same time. it's addictive, it's a trap. at first, I didn't understand, and I didn't listen. but, now I get it. I spent so much time romanticising my sadness, I don't know how to live without it.

To live in only idolizing happiness or idolizing sadness is to deprive yourself of the other side. We as creatures feel a variety of emotions for a reason. Without sadness, we could not truly appreciate the happiness that we strive for. Without happiness, we could not understand the importance sadness holds in comforting us. And similarly, there is an importance to anger, to express frustration instead of bottling feelings until they break you. Life is about navigating the days, and every day has different weather. Your mind is no different - you may have a bright, sunny day, a gloomy, depressive day, or an intense stormy or hot day. What is important is to acknowledge it all, let it exist and wash over you, but don’t fixate on it so strongly as for the emotion you currently feel to define everything about how you live. Like life, balance and acceptance is the meaning of it all.

Stay away from machoism and sadism, changes the way you love others. Especially if you have a history of romanticizing the hurt.

I see sadness only as an inevitable way to feel how rare and cherishable happiness is. In my country, there is a saying, "Life is short but happiness is shorter." Sometimes, sadness can make us stronger and make us think deeper about life and world, but it shouldn't be seen as something that is so attractive. I think you actually don't enjoy being sad. You enjoy the special feeling of happinessthat you feel when you are being sad. Some people find happiness in sadness. They are some kinds of deep thinkers, and of course they are wise. But if it is possible, I think one should try to become like a child, and enjoy the simple things in your life. Laugh like a kid. Laugh at some foolish dumb jokes. Help the others to be happy. Play with the wind, the sunshine, the trees and the rains etc. Seeing a naive yet kind-hearted child smiling is one of the most beautiful things in the world.

when I listen to this it like listening to the pretty and perfect sky cry like it never has before it reminds me of when a person doesn't feel like they fit in somewhere. the sky could feel that way if you think about it every this is all about sunshine and the sun and that's when everyone comes out to play but when it rains people are just sad and just stay inside and always disported when it rains so the rain could feel sad that not many people enjoy it because sometimes it just brings sadness which i feel is a very calming feeling.

Listening to your playlist at night… Old memories of my friends when I was young are coming back to my mind… I remember discovering online games in order to disconnect from the reality I was suffering from as adolescent… Rough times, but immediately made better with other young people I met on minecraft especially, when the game just came out on browser… Very old times ! More than 10 years have gone since then… I lost some friends on the way… Made others….. But those friendships and memories from childhood are just… A special kind you know ? ^^ Hmmm… Those good old days… How I miss them sometimes… Thanks for your playlist. I don’t know anymore if tears of rain or sadness are falling down on my face. But I feel great anyway… ^^

I had similar experiences. I remember nearly nine years ago, I spent much time playing in Minecraft servers with people who I had never met in real world. I cannot clearly remember those moments now, but what I am sure is that these moments are wonderful time. I hope those who once played with me in these servers are doing well wherever they are. I love the rain so much. People always disagree and say rain is sad and depressing, but I think it's relaxing, it has the best smell, and the sound can put me to sleep even with my insomnia. But I just don't understand how rain is sad. Rain provides life. If there wasn't rain, there wouldn't be plants, water, and anything to live off of. I would like to think that life is happy. But the constant stereotypical 'happiness' of sunny days really makes me hate those days. I like sunny days because I can do more activities, but people like to force it down my throat that I'm supposed to always be happy on a sunny day and depressed on a rainy one. I don't like being pressured into being happy all the time. I feel how I want, I'm not a take-apart-put-back-together doll. I can at least go outside in the rain and not have to squint to see everything. Everything just feels better when the day is dark, cloudy, foggy or misty with pouring rain. It just feels right like swimming in a pool without even swimming. Or maybe all these feelings stem from when I was a child, escaped the house in only a diaper and my mom found me eating swallowable rocks in the rain and thunder, jumping in puddles, and rolling in wet grass.

i love the rain too, i actually get more depressed in sunny 'perfect' days, maybe cause of all the expectations i feel in those days to be happy, when i'm not. rainy days are the best cause i feel like the weather is consistent with how i feel (i'm also a really nostalgic person). but i also love the joy of the smell, the feelings and sensations it brings, specially if it makes me feel cozy and safe

My perfect time of year is when it is spring or autumn. The clouds are gray and there’s a light sprinkle in the air… I like to go outside and walk around at those times. Everyone considers those times “depressing” so they’re locked inside. It feels like you have the whole world to look at…
