I have found in my 56 year short life (LOL) is that in MOST cases, you get what you pay for. As far as comparing one Battery Manufacturer to another, the difference i have found between 2 reputable companies, for the difference in PRICE, i personally feel that I'm better off buying Gens Ace Batteries! I have 6 Heli's and EVERY one has between 4 to 6 Batteries for it and EVERY one of them is a GENS ACE BATTERY! Rotorquest is a dealer in CA I believe. I fly the yellow GNB 380mah HV packs. Tight under the canopy but awesome performance and a little more flight time. I cut the XT30 lead off. I have a dozen, and all are excellent. I fly hard 3D for reference. Excellent video. 👍

Voltage at the tail of the pack looked higher for the Gens Ace on the bench also. Didn't know that was a way packs varied. Interesting.

Hi. I bought the M1 in October 2022 together with 2 gensace 400mAh packs an been doing indoor and outdoor flying weekly since then and now the stock OMP pack give me 2 minutes of flight time outdoor while the gensace still give me 4 min 50 sec of flight time. I fly soft 3D at 60% governor and all the time the gensace packs hold well past that time while the OMP pack bearly make it. The IR of the OMP pack also is significantly higher then the gensace packs now. The difference have been creeping up slowly as the packs have been used. I aimed for 5 minute of flying time but while the gensace batteries handled it the OMP pack did not and the heli engaged soft cut before that. So 4,50 was set on the timer but now the OMP pack don't hold it anymore. So clearly OMP have been saving money on the battery quality compared with gensace. Just saying.

I would do a capacity check on them. Find out if they are 400mah. I would do 4 cycles in the unit. Then do a full discharge then full charge. To find the stable MAH

Hard to believe a smaller, lighter pack would have more capacity to begin with anyway. How about the Align 400mah batteries? They're a bit larger but can still fit in the m1. I would hope they would have actual more capacity given the increased size.

Hi John, i am about to take the plunge at get M1 (my 1st heli) after watching you vids. Also will try to source these cells in the UK for it. Can i ask your advice/opinion? i will need a LIPO charger. Can you recommend a easy to use unit, i will never want to charge more than 3s packs. A mains only will suit ,12v is not a must option. thank you

Could the XH plug be a limiting factor? I know they did it to save weight, but wouldnt an xt30 plug or GNB27 be better?

gens ace have been pulling bs lately. I bought their Gens Ace Bashing 2s 7.4v 400mah 35c, lipo and as soon as i took it out of the box i knew its no where close to 400mah. because i have a 400mah 30c lipo, and somehow gens ace's 400mah is somehow smaller and lighter than the battery its supposed to replace even though gens ace claimed 35c rating.
