Let's get this machine out of the crate and take a look around! I'll point out all the parts and features of the unit and offer some general advice. The machine in the video is available here: omtechlaser.com/collections/m...

You are very welcome Brandon! I'm LOVING this machine! The things I'm able to create with it are quite stunning. More videos to come!

Glad to see you addressed current limits for your tube. I have a MF2028 as well, and at 80%, the power supply was giving the tube over 22mA. I couldn't go above 65% without exceeding the 18mA limit (per the manufacturer) for the tube. Part of the issue is that these are sold as 60 watt machines, but there's actually a 50 watt tube in the machine - in general, if the tube is 1000mm in length, it's a 50W. Otherwise I've been pretty happy with mine.

Yeah, exactly! I was a bit surprised to find that out. I usually try and do work at 30-35% max just to keep things managable. I appreciate your comments Steve.

Forgive me, as I am new to co2 lasers (coming from diode)..you're saying based on the ma reading, a lightburn setting of 65% (in your case) is pushing 18ma on the machine..essentially saying 65% lightburn setting is actually 100% of actual tube power? Maybe I'm not understanding correctly, I just don't want to burn out my new 80w once it arrives..thanks in advance.
@directedt3ch Жыл бұрын
@@josharmour1549 Yes, that is correct. If you don't do a power line test so you can properly set lightburn (or just know your settings) you can overdrive your tube and shorten the life.

Great vid. Mine was 674 pounds(af2440) and it was pretty easy to watch my Son and friend roll it off the side lift it while i pulled the palette out lol. :D

Thank you for the great overview. I am considering the auto focus version of this machine, but I need to get it through a 30" wide doorway. Is it possible to take the rolling base off in order to turn the machine on its side/back to get through a narrower doorway?
@directedt3ch7 ай бұрын
Yes, the base is removeable. It's roughly 23.5" without the base.
@davidgoldberg20017 ай бұрын
Update - Spoke with Omtech support, they said that yes, the machine can be removed from the support frame to allow it to go through a narrow doorway.

Good video. I subscribed to your channel so I can keep up with your future videos. I recently got an Omtech AF-2435-80 and love it. 👍🏻

Appreciate the subscription! I have to put up the chiller video, and I recently replaced the stock fan and have a video for that as well.

Hello, I am 100% new to lader machines. I got this same machine delivered to me today. You mentioned deionized water from and you a "mini oilless" air compressor. Will you please tell me where you purchased them?
@directedt3ch Жыл бұрын
The deionized water is from Amazon. I believe I have a link in the description in many of my other videos. The air compressor is from harbor freight.

Hey, this is a great video! Would you please be able to tell me if this machine would fit through a standard door? Thanks
@directedt3ch9 ай бұрын
It should. You'll probably have to take the door off the hinges to give just an extra inch or two, but I moved my laser from the garage, to a small enclosed room through a standard size door. The laser itself is 34 1/4 inches wide and the door jamb was 35 1/4" wide.

@@directedt3ch thanks for taking time to respond and for the info! I will measure the doors to see. Thanks again! Keep up the excellent videos

Hello. I have a SH-G570, there is a fire during operation, the compressor works poorly, I replaced it with a new one, the reason has not disappeared. What shall I do?
@directedt3ch Жыл бұрын
What are you using for a compressor? Have you check to make sure all of your air lines are connected and clear?

The MF2028-60 is just the manual-focus version of the AF2028-60, right?
@directedt3ch Жыл бұрын
Correct. No autofocus pen or z axis motor.

Hi, how much electricity does it cost per hour to use this laser machine?
@directedt3ch Жыл бұрын
It's not much at all. Let me put a watt meter on it. I'll make a little video.
