this was so real and honestly, felt strangely reassuring to see the rejections you’ve had to face being someone who, in my eyes, has this absolutely uncontainable, undeniable talent. its corny but hearing this story really confirmed everything happens for a reason. your content is the best it’s ever been and the truth is that- you really don’t need netflix or a big ol production crew, what you’re creating right now on your own is the fucking MOMENT. you’re such a talented storyteller, top to bottom, these videos are masterpieces that you have full control over and you’re fucking NAILING it. so as much as i’m sure this breakup was tough for the both of you, i think it makes so much sense and you’ll both end up where you need to be. you’re taking the youtube format and absolutely eating it up and making it your own and it’s a joy to watch. not to mention, there’s a level of closeness that you get on youtube that you can’t get on these big productions and that closeness lends itself to travel content so much because you feel like you’re fully immersed in the day to day, experiencing real people and moments you probably wouldn’t get if you had 5 massive cameras and a few sound guys following you around. anyways, all of this just to say, i think you’re right where you need to be. you’re killing it damon!!!

Wow Damon... First of all can I just say, with everything that happened, you really did a great job at dusting yourself off and starting again. I can only imagine the confusing and conflicting emotions you felt whilst everything happened. It's such a SH*T situation as well because I can't blame Jo for taking the role but I also can't blame you for feeling any form of resentment as you pretty much lost everything you guys had worked for. I initially thought you two "divorced" because she got a bf and went AWOL. I had no idea the Netflix program happened that long ago and was basically the nail in the coffin. I watched the entire Netflix show and... I'm conflicted because I watched it to support Jo but whilst watching it, I felt like the chemistry was only felt between her and Megan. The other guy was always on the other side of the room and looked like he didn't wanna hang with them so I did think "Why did they not just invite Damon because they would've all gotten along?". BUT, the moment I got through the first two episodes I was like.... this is too sanitised and polished and was seemingly against what you two initially wanted in a Netflix show. I think in the end, it was a blessing you continued with your own channel because it's SO *unique* and artistic. I need these big companies to see your vision because it's a lot more interesting and left field to mainstream "sure thing's". It sucks you too aren't friends anymore but just know your channel is so so special and you have a dedicated audience that is willing to support you! Thank you for being transparent with us :)

I think we’re Jo failed Damon was not being transparent and honest. Of course it makes sense for her to take the Netflix deal but even with the book deal thing and starting a relationship channel she should have sat down with Damon and let it all out. As soon as she started that channel with her boyfriend it felt shady even for ME as a viewer. It felt very one sided. If there was more transparency this friendship could have remained. Also, just a reminder to everyone that just because you have a bf doesn’t mean your friendships or plans are second fiddle.

exactly the book deal and the new solo channel were the shadiest things for me. apart from being very shady, her decision to move back for a man was very foolish to me, i don’t feel like a man at the peak of his career would ever make that sacrifice of leaving the country where he works to be with a woman ( i mean they were only going to be there for 4 months why couldn’t she wait 🙄) and that new “dating” channel was kind of putting her eggs in one basket transitioning from travel vlogging to that somewhat¿ (again something a man might never do) but it’s all past now. everyone has their path.

This is exactly why they say don’t mix business and pleasure, don’t work with family, don’t work with friends etc! It’s hard to make moves that are best for you when you don’t want to hurt someone you love and it’s just as hard to feel betrayed or left behind. I think this is for the best for both of them (although I’d love them to eventually patch things up).

I know you said there doesn't have to be sadness in all of this. But truthfully it did feel sad for me in some ways. Screw Netflix, seriously. I can't even begin to understand how and why anyone wouldn't want to have you as the host of a tv show. Cette partie là m'a un peu serré le coeur, j'imagine que ce n'était pas facile à encaisser et j'admire l'honnêteté qui est la tienne, pour en parler aussi ouvertement sur YT. And if that needs to be said... i guess i'm more aligned with your way of seeing friendship and creativity. You must have never had a team or a real partnership, because if you had you would not make this statement. She should have been transparent knowing that his income would pretty much end. Also, her contract with Netflix made it near impossible for them to film the show. Also, he does not seem and has not acted in a malicious manner, so he definitely would not have held her back. It would have allowed him to start to branch out. a business is a contractual agreement, so he she owed him that much. I would never watch her show, based on her handling of this situation.

Sorry, I get passionate when someone is mistreated. I saw Jo's announcement and knew something was off when she didn't include you in her background journey thing. I am a casual viewer and adored you both as a duo and individuals. So, once in awhile, I check on you both for updates. If the fallout weren't so avoidable, I would be rooting for you both. I don't even mind you both going your separate ways. I just... I liked Jo. She's a young Black woman, and I want her to succeed. However, I have to call it what it is. There's nothing wrong with wanting to do a solo book deal, or moving to LA, or wanting to pursue the Netflix job solo. But, she was also in a partnership that she was actively competing against which wasn't necessary. She agreed to the partnership. Like, why the secrecy? Why not communicate? If she wanted to build a solo brand, why not tell you? You both could have came to an agreement on the content you can only do together. What she did, I can't help but think it's an awful thing to do to a supposed friend and business partner. If she wanted to leave, then why not give you time to prepare. Also, you wanted a mediator because you both weren't seeing eye to eye. Which yes, if there's toxicity, then 100%, you're right. Because it's necessary if you both want to continue working together or remain friends. Someone needs to be present so you can communicate effectively. No gaslighting, pointing fingers, or talking over one another. Active listening instead of debating. Therapy is for everyone and there's nothing to be ashamed of. There shouldn't be anything to hide either. "This is between me and you." Not if you want to make things work and you're not moving forward. All the choices she made was so inconsiderate, so cold-blooded. Like, imagine Eugene from the Try Guys creating a solo channel without letting the other guys know? 😑 The audacity!! Two sides. No, I don't believe it. Pursuing opportunities and having creative differences doesn't mean going behind someone else's back constantly and impacting your friend/business partner's wallet.

Plus why did you have to call out her race before mentioning how you thought she was cold blooded? seems odd
@LoveRegi00
@LoveRegi00 2 жыл бұрын
@@SanevaNaliroca Whelp, 🤷🏾‍♀️Because I'm a Black woman that likes to support other Black women. It was uncomfortable/ harder to criticize her. Of the two, for me, Jo was the main person I was watching more consistently. But wrong is wrong. Also, I would like to think the Try Guys plan a head and communicate their outside endeavors in order to schedule accordingly and agree upon what would harm the shared business/brand. There is truly no excuse to not inform your supposed friend and business partner what your plans are, especially when you are impacting them financially. Then, when that business partner tries to salvage the business and at least the friendship, you disagree to have a mediator. Like, why? If you want to end the friendship, sure, whatever. End the partnership, sure. However, common decency says to give that business partner notice so they can start planning their next move.
