Stockfish felt like it was too much for it to handle by itself so it got in a zoom call with Leela and Alphazero, or so it is written in my chess bible.

The thing about the stafford is they’re are a lot of way to win fast but even if your opponent is fully prepared your only slightly worse.

You need to play the squares rather than the pieces in end games like this. You can play a lot faster if you know which squares are important because you can simply ignore the rest of the board.

The Stafford Gambit isnt entirely sound, but watching Hikaru play against it makes it pretty clear that you need to make very counter-intuitive moves to stay ahead. Make a bunch of pawn moves, trade off bishop and a queen, keep running your king up with your bishops because youre playing for this long endgame i just dont think there are a ton of players who are ready to make those moves

In one of very first streams Eric said this opening is bad for black, but has some surprise attacks for most of oponents. Also, only playable in bullet like games

can someone explain the Nd5 move at 10:00? I was thinking the idea was to get the Queen to g4 and then use the rook to checkmate, but white's bishop on e2 stops that, so I'm not sure.

I play Dasher on occasions. The program plays Petrov's defense quite a lot, but never played Stafford Gambit once. Hikaru has shown it is possible to win with black using this opening.
