The scene where Dan is in the bedroom somehow reminds me of the All In The Family episode shortly after Edith had died off screen. Roseanne had also died off screen. Both Goodman and Carroll O'Connor are acting icons to me and I was wondering if anyone else noticed the similarities between the two scenes from both classic sitcoms? Thanks for any feedback!

I don't think many people expected this show to be good. But this is some seriously good writing and these are some seriously good actors!

I hate to admit it...But, I actually like the Connors. It's a different show without Roseanne. But just like real life, it's never the same when a family member is gone.

Roseanne believes Valerie, as a member of the Obama administration, had a role in the expansion of the Muslim brotherhood in places like Iran. The tweet had NOTHING to do with what the movie is called, and everything to do with what the movie is about. Planet of the Apes, the movie, is about overthrowing political despots (where the Apes rule and humans are their servants and either fight back or escape). And that is what some people of Iran are trying to do to their own government. People need to get past the word “Ape”. That had nothing to do with what Roseanne was trying to say. If the movie was called “waka maka waka” then that’s what she would have said, because what the movie is called was irrelevant to what she was trying to say. Again, Roseanne was comparing what she believes to be Valerie’s actions with the PLOT of the movie, not the name or characters in it.

I do miss Rosanne but I adore the other characters as well and when talking about real life, this show going back to its very beginnings has always tackled the very real things working class families have coped with &/or experienced. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel without Rosanne’s presence but I do feel the cast did an amazing job on continuing the traditional idea of this show. It’s sad Rosanne was written off via opioid overdose but I do see why they went that road seeing she had this problem at the end of the last season of Rosanne. She even hid her pills on Dan in the ice pack in the freezer. So I see why they went there. Not to mention sticking true to this show touching on issues many people are facing today, most of us know someone suffering from addiction or have ourselves. No matter your opinion on it, the fact is it’s a huge problem in our country and has been for a very long time. So yes I’m sad that’s how she was written off, but I do get it & I also appreciate how much she gave up to ensure they could go on with the show. I don’t believe Rosanne is a bad person or a racist. I think she’s great. I may not agree with everything she says but I still think she’s so talented and truly missed on this show. However I think The Connors was absolutely wonderful. I think they did a fabulous job keeping true to their roots and of course the acting is always incredible when it’s John, Laurie & everyone else. So I truly hope the have a season 2 of The Connors. They left on a cliff hanger too so I want to know what happens. I do wish they would do more than 11 episodes. I miss the longer seasons but I am happy to even get the 11. Out of All the Cast members, it's almost Visual that John Goodman Is the One who Really Does Miss Roseanne. (on another note... Aside from John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf, the Other Cast members Acting is by far Mediocre and Not even needed for the show).

Absolutely LOVED the show Roseanne. It was SO genuine, great writing, great acting..after Seinfeld, the best sitcom on TV. I was obsessed with the Darlene and David’s storyline. They were soul mates and easily my favorite TV couple. I haven’t seen The Connors but I’ve heard good things.

I only pulled up the episode where Becky is in rehab and Dan is trying to help her surface her anger. Powerful stuff. I'm glad this show was on.

Even though I am not a Rosanne fan, even back in the 80s, I wish the show best endeavors.

I hope we get to see what happened to Jackies son love this show I grew up with this my favorite was always Lecy and was so happy she came back she seems like such a sweetheart

Devastated over absence of Rosie. But this show is as good as the original show. And most of the cast is still here. This feels like a real family. Then and now. Timeless Connors. Still love it. The spirit is still here.

If my memory serves me correctly.. Both Roseanne and Jackie had Babies back in the latter Seasons of Roseanne! And so... Where did their Babies go to because there's certainly No mention of either baby on the Connors!!! What- - did the Writers forget? Or.. did they think that WE forgot?? Hmm...

I still like this show regardless if Roseanne is on it or not. It could lose any one of the characters and it could continue on. They are showcasing the all American working middle class family. Death is apart of life everyone experiences at some point. Its bound to happen. What if she actually did die and they had to go on without her. It's the same thing

What bothered me was for SOME REASON, the network aired a few episodes out of order, so this caused continuity issues. How does this still happen?

I hated that Roseanne got fired!! But the show is still pretty close to what it was like while she was there. The writing is still excellent tackling real life subjects. I'm enjoying it but YES I do miss Roseanne. I feel she was wronged. It was HER show based on HER life. The cast could have rallied for her especially since she apologized for her "political" joke. Not a "racist" joke. JMO

This is Roseanne's fault. No one else should be the blame but her. She should have known better.

The show is doing well for the network. It is the highest rated show on he network with all audiences. It comes second to Grey’s Anatomy in the 18 to 49 age demographic. Negotiations are going to wait for season two but has not been confirmed yet. If negotiations go well, then we could get this season two. I am very happy that the show is doing great.

Never been much of a Barr fan but loved show and I am pissed af that they killed her off by opioids! That was low. With all her weight issues on show they could've easily gave her a stroke or heart issue.

Dream sequence...Rosanne comes out of a dream and sees what effect her death would have on everyone and everything she would miss if she died. She has still been taking the drugs, she then decides she is done with them. Some of the storylines can stay the way they are, get creative. Noone will care if there is a few continuity errors as long as Rosanne is back. Strong suggestion, Gilbert's big storyline is that she is dying and only has a couple months to live. She dies and everything is right with the Rosanne show.

Yeah, this show didn't break through anything with a black and white couple with a child. The Jefferson's had a mixed race couple as neighbors in the 70's. They had a child too.

I am definitely watching and hoping there is a season 2! I am glad roseanne isn't on it non stop trump comments. Roseanne changed big time from her original show. It's like she had a 360° difference! All of her core values has changed. She spoiled the original for me. She was like a second mom growing up. I had idolized her because of how liberal she was. I honestly wish she never brought the show back.

People can distinguish between Roseanne Barr and Roseanne Conner. Why can't the ABC and put her back?
