Loss of Manohar Parrikar as defense minister is still being felt. Thought Indian defense is moving forward, hopefully modi 3.0 appoints a dynamic defense minister who understands that future wars will be a war of technology. Kalyani ji should also take a look at drones for offensive and defensive roles.

People who question modi govt about privatisation defense sector this is the results. All major defense company in is are private locked Martin , Raytheon, Boeing etc. We want join with private technology along with national defense agency like ordance factories and DRDO etc to make our defense strong like USA 🇺🇸doing. For real time example products that used in latest army exercise in Rajasthan shows of new age Indian armored vehicle. Several African and South-East Asian countries too have to potential to become a defence hub. Every country has potential, its no use talking about potential when one cant harness or put it to action. At the end of the day, India is a net importer of military arsenal. Period.

The only large Indian MNC company-Bharat Forge who is doing somewhat investment in R&D unlike others who are happy making tail wings...other wise see Tata/L&T/Adani no investment in R&D...they are happy with contract manufacturing...we will see what Tata advances system will do...post manufacturing C295...will they able to build large transport aircradt like boeing c17 or c130 j....I doubt that ...they will still make wings ...

TASL and L&t are also doing R&D. can't say the same for Adani. And except guns kalyani is also doing screwdrivergiri in vehicles. There armoured platforms are license copies from south african paramount group and israeli Elbit. Their small arms are also license copies of thales australia and ARDE.

This is what the late Manohar Parrikar must have envisioned when he pushed for "Make in India " . Wish we had more people like Baba Kalyani. I mean the man is so passionate about his work. Great interview and discussion with Bharat Forge! Please keep bringing these to us. A couple of items I noted, some good some not so good: - Factory floors were well organized similar to US/Western standards with lean mfg, lean inventory, segregated manufacturing areas, yellow stripe to demark production areas from walking areas for safety; - Great use of latest technology for design; Not so good: - Many workers were standing around watching not doing their jobs - that seems inefficient; - Safety gear such as safety glasses not work by many including Baba Kalyani even when in shop floor area; they have active forging going on and welding which can release sparkes and particles which are eye hazards. I think Induan mfg industry can benefit from enhanced safety training overall; - Surprised to see plant next to flats! What the F***! There should have been zoning to keep industrial plants away from residential areas as the plants use dangerous chemicals. Also, spies can live in this flats and have a clear vision into the ongoing activities and record everything. They might even have electronic surveillance equipment to hack into systems.

Its has become emerging prime location of Mundhwa from earlier 20-30 years. Thier plant is now in middle of city. Only option is now to move it out of city. Also it was forging company earlier while industrial allotment and now it has transformed.

Baba Kalyani has 4 functional ready to deploy artillery systems-Garuda 105, bharat 52, ATAGS, MGS They have 1 bulk order from the army so far, for an armoured vehicle Just indian army things.

Amazing R&D. Again shows how Nehruvian policies and license raj kept India so backwards. If the government had given private Indian citizens the freedom to build businesses in every field after independence,India would have been a superpower a lot before. Shows how bad bureaucrats and economic policies screw up a whole country’s fate.

Very impressed! Am not too sure how much time Nitin spent on putting this together but I think as we improve in sophistication in manufacturing & products, we need far greater inputs in terms of money, time, soecialisation & tech to put together crisp videos which will do justice to the tremendous strides India is making in manufacturing, technology, digitisation, AI, Robotics etc
