I know they have to look after the cars, but changing gear so early just kills the hole point of what you paid to experience. These experiences aren’t cheap, you get a busy track, you might as well take your own car out for a blast. He spent the hole time moving out the way of other drivers, I’d be gutted!!

I noticed he was hesitant on the throttle (perfectly understandable) which means he will get passed by. If you think it's not cheap, keep in mind the running costs, instructor time, track hire (v.expensive), maintenance etc and there's way less profit than you'd think. So at that profit margin they keep the revs low to reduce strain and cost. This was an experience day, which is an absolutely fine way to experience these cars for most. If you want to push on, there's other products from companies though of course, more expensive.

I just did a Porsche experience day and it was well worth the money considering I will never be able to afford and run a Porsche. I’ll stick to my Yaris gr 😂 still just as fun on the roads

I did one at Ingliston, the first couple cars were more sensible like this, the third (a 458) he let me push it a bit more, the fourth (a Huracan) the guy let me push it quite hard, and the 5th (a McLaren 650S), the guy told me to send it at the straight lines up to the limiter. It depends how highly you score

It Is worth it. I can tell you that, personally i could never have a car like this. So yeah, its worth it for the buzz. A buzz which somehow my citreon c3 can't pull off.

driving a Porsche 911 at 60mph

Which company is this? I need to mark it as one to avoid. The R8 was juddering under anything more than 3k revs, the 997 had a check engine light, in the F430 he wasn't allowed to go past 4000 revs. This was terrible man.

Which Porsche 911 was it, I see its tiptronic ?

Do they provide the GoPro helmet? Or did you buy that?
@owain656411 ай бұрын
They sell an ‘in cockpit video’, but I think it was about £25 per car. I could be wrong!
@owain656411 ай бұрын
Sorry, didn't answer your question. I bought a strap which fit over the standard helmet they make you wear. You can get them on ebay/amazon

If I book x3 cars, for 3 laps each, would it be enough? 🤔
@owain65644 жыл бұрын
maz ames I would suggest doing 4 cars, 3 laps each.. and also pay a little bit extra to do the race line lap in an estate car. If you don’t do this, the first lap in your first car will be used for this purpose anyway. Which track are you looking to go to?
@owain65642 жыл бұрын
This is what I did.. and I would probably say for a first go it would be enough.

Do you have go be accompanied by someone as a requirement?
@owain65643 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately yes. The dude who accompanies you has to hold some type of race track instructor qualification. The sessions are recorded in car, for the purposes of the track day companies insurance. If you disobey an instruction, and then there is an accident / damage to the car.. get ready to sell your 🏠

Well that’s a shame. As much as this seems fun I wouldn’t cal it a supercar driving experience. I’d find that guy annoying AF Was gonna go for the £40 groupon deal but I’ll pass

I swear that these instructors ruin the experience by endlessly waffling on and making the drivers question every single thing that they do.
@CookRacingUK8 ай бұрын
Instructor here. I used to think the same thing, but I learnt that the vast majority (and I asked for feedback) of people want the instruction (waffle) because they get more out of the car. It gives them confidence to push.
