Going on 17 years this April.

I think it really got me because… I just have never seen a guy like Rob, arrogant and kind of loud, perfectly happy being manipulative if it suits his purpose (at least in these situations), find a girl he actually wants to settle down with. Seeing him be… so DIFFERENT about her, tender and caring and protective, worrying about her, it kind of blows my mind a little bit. 😅 It makes me wonder if he’s actually a pretty solidly good guy outside of the game-o-sphere, just perhaps with an ego due to his intelligence and looks. Regardless, it makes him such an interesting persona to watch, and I’m happy for him and Amber; sometimes people find love in the weirdest ways, at the strangest times. My fiancé was supposed to be going to France for his studies when the pandemic first hit, but he didn’t go. Meanwhile my mom had stage 4 cancer and i didn’t want to really date again, but i knew she worried for me and would be much happier if I was with someone, so at her urging, i reconsidered. For the first time in three years of being single, I tried a dating app, one I’d never tried before, said to myself, “This is so stressful and draining, so I’ll just talk to six guys, a max of three weeks, and if no one stands out, I’ll wait three months and try again.” Second day, he commented on my goofy photo, not just a flattering one, so I messaged him. Found out he was a big brother (and protective), loved history and fantasy like I do, and we just… it was more like falling back in step than meeting. Instead of taking 2-3 months of messaging to give him my number, it was 3 days. Instead of phone calls for 3-5 months before a date (I try to be careful; lotta creeps out there), he got to meet me. We went to a bookstore, and within 15 minutes I was COMFORTABLE with him, not nervous at all. The engagement was in five months, and we’re marrying in just over four months in Scotland! 😅 I was… not expecting anything, and was just doing due diligence to make my mother happy, on the off chance, to have this three week window for the first time in three years. He was supposed to be in France, and didn’t expect much either from the app. But it just HAPPENED, and it allowed a very sick lady to meet her future son-in-law several times before she passed, giving her so much peace of mind about the future of her kid. So while I want to be a cynic about romances that happen on tv shows… I don’t think I’ll ever be able to be that cynical again, because I lived a somewhat serendipitous situation myself, and even with pressure and not a lot of time, sometimes you just know yourself well enough to know your person when you meet them, and it’s not really a question of if, but when you’re going to decide to make it official.

And he was going up against people who theoretically would have watched everything else he was on. It isn't his fault everyone else played dumb with Rob in the mix.

I always found Rob annoying and Amber kinda sweet Then again, I stopped watching TAR 11 midway through cuz burn out and I hadn't seen any Survivor prior to that Probably a different opinion if I start watching that again

I was cheering for their downfall the whole time, and it was made sweeter that it was partially after a rivalry with Charla and Mirna, a "hated' team that I actually liked (though more for Charla). My perception of Boston Rob was backwards to most though, as I got into The Amazing Race long before I knew anything of Survivor, so I saw both of Rob and Amber's Races before ever seeing what Rob was like on Survivor - and I like him a lot more when he's on Survivor.

Why did you keep the type when you noticed it and had the chance to go back and fix it?

I still have this theory that Joyce's shaved head was what saved their azzes boarding the closed gate. There's generous people all over the world and boarding staff could let you enter planes on special circumstances back in the mid 2000s like if it's a pregnancy or medical obligation. If I didn't know about her head shave FF I would've assumed she was going through chemo and allowed her and Uchenna to board.🤔 But who am I to know.
