The more I watch Winners at war, the more I am impressed by Tony. Like holy fuck he might put on a facade of being kinda happy-go-lucky, but he may have worked harder than any castaway ever. Busting his ass to be a good provider, being a legit challenge beast, and being a terrific strategist while searching for the idol at night. That last bit says it all, when you consider everything he did this season, he did on only a few hours of sleep. Most complete player ever.

Bob wasn't dragged to the end. He was a known threat who fought hard to get there. Sugar ultimately HELPED him make it because she didn't respect the others (rightly) and knew she didn't have a shot herself. She is the hero of that season, but Bob was still the "correct" winner for the jury's sensibilities. She just made sure it wouldn't be some bully jerk.

My biggest complaint about Chris Underwood is something not shown in the final edit. I actually respected his game somewhat for a while! Sure, he wasn't actually there for a significant amount of the show, but he still did the best he could with the resources at his disposal. He made every endgame play right, and was therefore not a bad candidate to win out of the final 3. Hooooooooowever...what made me kinda hate his game, was learning that his entire strategy was handed to him by other edgemates! The only reason he even knew his win condition was to get immunity, then volunteer for fire against Rick Devens and win was because others on the edge overtly told him that would be his win condition. He may have succeeded in play, but the strategy wasn't even his own. Very frustrating lol

Woo voting out Kass instead of Tony is the biggest butterfly effect in Survivor. Tony likely gets on Cambodia and probably gets voted off pretty early due to being such a crazy threat on one of the most recent popular seasons at the time. I like Parvati just fine and her win was both impressive and satisfying. However, a last minute rule change saved her from having to face a competitor who may well have been a match for her at the end, and (though through no fault of her own) this taints her win to the point that I have to dispute her stratospheric ranking.
@mystic7934
@mystic7934 11 ай бұрын
that's just one half of it though. parvati had the fans votes solidly wrapped around her as she was adored by them and tended to them all post merge a lot more so than cirie and amanda. cirie played great within their alliance but we will never know if that would've translated to getting votes. do you feel the same way about yul who benefitted from the first final 3 ever when ozzy would have very likely won a final immunity otherwise?

I reckon it'd go like this: ELIZA VOTES FOR CIRIE OZZY VOTES FOR AMANDA JASON VOTES FOR PARVATI JAMES VOTES FOR AMANDA ALEXIS VOTES FOR PARVATI ERIK VOTES FOR AMANDA NATALIE VOTES FOR PARVATI TIED!!! 3-3-1 Not sure how they'd manage the situation. It's different from Ghost Island as Eliza has a stray vote for Cirie, whereas Laurel had no stray votes If they got the jury to revote and can only vote for Parvati or Amanda - we all know Eliza would vote Parvati If on the other hand, Cirie becomes a jury member - then I think Cirie votes for Parvati PARVATI WINS. I'm not sure how much of it is an intentional tactic but Adam's manages his mom story expertly. He doesnt reveal it to the whole cast initially which prevents him having a big target, reveals it to Jay which if he stays makes him an ally and if he goes a jury asset that will influence other people on pondarosa. Then come final tribal he lets the cat out of the bag solidifying his position as the favorite to win. Of course there are other assets to his game such as allying with and managing two goats Hannah and Ken, making sure target is always on someone else and general social gaming but I think its really impressive how he manages the backstory aspect of his game

@@itzwakk335I just rewatched the season and youre completely wrong. She is in the driver seat for most of the game. Coach listens to her distinctly at two key tribals and the fact you think its "revisionist" history when Im literally stating what really happens just proves some of you cant distinguish the true story from the edit. Seriously listen to Sophie and Coach on ANY podcast and youll see your blowhard comment is wrong when Coach has made it pretty clear that Sophie pushed ALL the big decisions. Sit down if you dont know what you're talking about.

Its also "revisionist" history to say that the group doesnt go that far with out Coach and rewrite the whole game the way YOU think it would have happened. Cochran flips either way(again, listen to a podcast once or twice). You can't possibly make that statement with any substance.

Tommy’s win in 39 just doesn’t do anything to impress. Most of the overt players were already eliminated, the whole season is kind of a mess with the Dan stuff, and the end of that season had more goats than a petting zoo. He wins as much because of his competition as he does because of any social game.

First time I watched it, I was really p.ssed off by Yul's God idol assisted win. On rewatch, not as much. But still too high here. He might be a good player but his path to the FTC was pretty much assured once he found the idol. Not a great choice by production to have an idol to have so much power. That actually works to your advantage when everyone knows about it.

Tina is criminally low on this list, first woman to win, the first to get someone to flip from the power, the first to make a successful cross-tribe alliance, and the first to blindside someone in her alliance once she had enough numbers to do so. All while being seen as nice and sweet.

i really like natalie white, she saw that russell is easily threatened by women he perceived as even remotely challenging him (like a loser, which he is) and played a really solid game socially, making russell underestimate her which cost him the win, rightfully so imo. she stayed on russell’s good side, while still maintaining her integrity with pretty much everyone else, and i can appreciate that kind of game even if it’s not a flashy one. she’s also one of very few people who made it far in that season that was yknow, nice and normal lmao. i appreciate that.

It annoys me that Tom is at 20 because ‘modern Survivor watchers don’t like the way he manipulated his tribe’. Uhhhhh…. Didn’t y’all just rate Parvati #2?? People PRAISE her for her extremely manipulative gameplay. So when she does it, she’s amazing and she’s the best and she’s a queen, but when Tom does it, and in a much less intense way mind you, he’s too manipulative. Explain that to me because that’s garbage.

@@itzwakk335 >no agency strategically Ok so basically we are discarding Ethan, Jenna, Sandra, Tom, Aras, Parvati, JT, and Natalie because they weren’t strategic or had agency? He was a social game player. He was so socially impressive that Sugar handed him the win, it doesn’t matter how dominant you are unless you can get the votes. >and horrific FTC what was so horrific about it? He literally told the people who voted for him what they wanted to hear and got their votes. The only votes he lost was from Kenny, because he was bitter, Crystal, because she was voting with Kenny, and Matty, who just liked Susie more, he didn’t do anything horrible! Even if you think it was bad tho, he was never losing to anyone at the F6. >burns Randy’s vote Bob told Randy in private that the idol was fake, those reactions from Randy were just cobbled up by the edit to make the moment spectacular, and his FTC was again editing and Randy hamming it up to add suspense. Also now it feels like you are saying he had a bad social game for burning his votes and that’s why he didn’t deserve the win when you said earlier that the fact that he wasn’t a strategic and dominant winner is why he didn’t deserve the votes. The Gabon cast was never gonna vote for a player with agency they all believed they were the toughest on the block.

Yes Aubrey was in fact not robbed but Michelle’s winners at war game was very unimpressive she was the textbook definition of a goat always getting blindsided constantly on the wrong side of the votes and always coming back from tribal saying how badly it went she really does not make any big moves at all and is so easily persuaded into voting for Sophie the one time she was on the correct voting side

according to tony they did michelle dirty with the edit, as even though she always voted wrong she was considered somewhat of a threat (due to her social game) and managed to keep the target off of her back all game. In my view she deserved second place, or tied third where tony gets all the votes, but natalie didn't play better.

I strongly disagree with the winners at war sentiment. Michelle was consistently telling people who were on the outs where they were positioned and wanted to pull off moves, but nobody would listen.
