Hey Guys, in todays video I am putting the Garmin R10 against the Rapsodo MLM in a head to head test to see which is the best indoor launch monitors. Both are pretty darn impressive vs. the simulator. Will be interesting to see how the new Rapsodo stacks up against both.

I’m debating on which one to purchase. Each day I’m swayed by one than the other. Today the Rapsodo.

Does the Garmin struggle to show a draw shot? Looking at footage on all videos you have put out so far it seems that it matches the SIM nearly identical on pushes and fades but seems to struggle on pulls and hooks

It seems to look like that on the playback, I did not really notice that before. But the garmin does show the ball going straight when the sim shows a draw. Do you have a garmin r10?

@@GolfersAuthority I'm saving up for a launch monitor (probably a Garmin) Do you think this is something you could test more? I'm sure the SIM would be really accurate at showing your draws but it's also something you could test on a driving range where you can see exactly how your shots draw in real life etc compared to what the Garmin shows on screen 👍

It looks to me it might be the position of the R10. In the footage where you can see the position of the R10 it looks like he has it slightly left of down the line and pointing slightly left of target line. I have an R10 and will say blown away. No issue with that shape.

@@GolfersAuthority The problem with the R10 and other radar based units is that they cannot/do not take into effect the "gear" effect on the ball at launch (the sideways spin causing shot shape). It reads the spin rate pretty well now with the latest updates and even with the use of RTC or metal dot balls, but still cannot grab the side spin and thus misses the draw especially. You can hit a pull and it sees it okay. Camera bases units are able to analyze the side spin for increased shot shape accuracy. I own the Garmin R10 and LOVE it. However, I have notices this happening and just need to understand the feel of the club face and what the ball "should" be doing. LOL... I see that the upgraded Rapsodo now incorporates 2 HS cameras running at 240fps to add this shot shaping potential to the stats and now does not need a phone to grab stats like the older Rapsodo. Also the new unit works with Android so there's that for folks who don't use IPhone. And now, the new Rapsodo offers simulation built into the package. It is around $200 more than the Garmin R10 but for some, it may be worth the extra couple hundred.

I think the numbers speak volumes about the accuracy, which doesn’t justify the cost, where there are obviously a few areas why these smaller units lack vs the bigger units. Any insight on those differences and how to address those?

It would be interesting to know the functions of both with and without a subscription. That would effect the cost of ownership of these launch monitors

Yes for now but the new rapsodo mlm 2 pro is coming out has it. What are you using now for a launch monitor?

Caution. The Rapsodo MUST have an iPad PRO for Net mode. Not all iOS devices are compatible for indoor or net mode. I actually, called Rapsodo prior to purchase and they told me my iPad would be fine. Well, it wasn't. I then spent $600 on a new iPad. Well, I didn't buy the more expense iPad PRO. So, Net mode doesn't work. No Android support, requires a $900 iPad. Returning the Rapsodo.

I use mine with my iPhone 11 and net mode works great.

Iphone works just well. I have Iphone 13
