I was lucky enough to see Kyle's last performance as Valjean and it was great. I have read on the net that some people thought him too young to play Valjean at 21, but I say if you are good enough to be cast as Valjean in the world's most popular musiacl then you are good enough and Kyle was in my humble opinion excellent and could have been even better over time

He definitely had the right voice for it. I'm sure he would have been the principal Valjean in a big Les Mis production somewhere in the world in a not too distans future, had he been alive. I really hope the world will recognize him and understand how much talent that left us so early. We will never forget you Kyle.

I agree he was the understudy but with the lead being ill he stepped up as was his position and made history.

it’s a bit more nasally than usual, but I can totally buy that that’s earl carpenter-it’s something that bugs me about a LOT of Javerts, how over time their bright, intense mannerisms get so extreme that they sound like caricatures (Will Swenson in this same production did a similar thing)
