Thank you for taking the time to show us how to do this. I made one this weekend! you were right it is not for the faint of heart, it did take me two attempts to get it so everything was tight and secure. Again much appreciated because I know it will get easier every time I make one now. Cheers!🙂

Thanks, now I have a hand-woven sling! 5 and 4 strand round braids gave me some trouble fsr, they're weird and twisty, but I'm very glad I made it

I don't know how you come up with these ideas but these are fantastic tutorials. They give me so many ideas for mine I have a suggestion for a future tutorial. Any chance you could do a braided sling with a full braided pouch, instead of the split pouch for all those full pouch slingers out there? TEAM BLUE!

@@omt0e614 My bad, I wasn't thinking straight earlier...I kinda have this giveaway set up like a head to head thing (Team Red vs Team Blue) so if you wanna comment "Team Red" or "Team Blue" I can put you down for that one (nobody seems to want the red one haha). But if you're on Instagram, shoot me a message; I like to help new slingers and I have some leftover paracord, so I might be able to make one for you if you don't win the drawing 👍

The "hammock" weave pouch is much harder IMO, for me I want/need to use a paracord needle as my pouch gets tighter, had it done near 4 AM, but never got tired lol. What I mean by the hammock is, just search "paracord sling" and it's the top few results often just uses one string. mine look like those, one string only. 12 feet. Not sure if it's the quality of my paracord but it's quite rigid. my pouch is quite small 4cm on it's hammock shape, 4.5cm completely flat. This looks easier but needs more strings -- 6 in total. I love all types but mostly ones that just needs to be weaved or knotted.

Is there a guide to determine what length of cord to achieve desired sling length? I cant find one anywhere and keep wasting cord or not having enough
@DouglasLeavitt
@DouglasLeavitt 2 жыл бұрын
I think the blue one is really cool. I am going to try that one. The weave leading into the pouch is different than ones I have done so far. Have you done any with Jute or hemp? I made a jute one the other day, but have not tried it yet.
@slingmoustachio4990
@slingmoustachio4990 2 жыл бұрын
I have some hemp cord, and I've been meaning to take a break from strictly paracord sling tutorials so a natural fiber sling is definitely coming soon. I made one with jute early when I started slinging but as I was braiding it, fibers kept coming out until the cords got really thin. Could have been that it was cheap twine or it could have been technique, so I need to try jute again.

@@omt0e614 I have seen his channel, yep! I'm pretty sure I subscribed to it as well. I think I saw a tutorial for a single string sling, but it's been a while since I surfed his channel (I try to stay caught up on the KZfaq feed, but his videos don't come across mine very often) so I'll have to go back over direct to his channel and check those out. Definitely though, if you come across other channels with tutorials let me know...I'm always up for trying new techniques!

Do I need to do that super-duper complicated braid just before the pouch?? Why can’t I just braid to that point, separate the strands into 2 sections of 3 and then braid those sections into each half of the pouch? What purpose does the complicated braid before it serve?? Because I can’t figure out what the hell you’re doing at that part.

Cant really find 325 in my area do you suggest to go up or down in size? Thanks already
@slingmoustachio4990
@slingmoustachio4990 2 жыл бұрын
If you've got the opportunity to, I would recommend experimenting with whatever sizes you can find. You can't really go wrong with 550 because that's what a lot of people use, I've just found that 325 is my personal favorite. If you can't find it locally, Paracord Planet and Paracord Galaxy (and others, I'm sure) sell it online for rather inexpensive prices. But these tutorial videos aren't size specific; you might have to play with it to get the starting lengths of cord figured out, but you can substitute a different size and still follow along. But, just in case, if your only options are 550 or 95 paracord (I'm guessing that's what's available in your area?) I would maybe recommend starting with the 550. 95 is really small and would probably make a fun sling, but it might be tricky to get it right the first time.
@Traxbobdestenentyfer
@Traxbobdestenentyfer 2 жыл бұрын
@@slingmoustachio4990 well I have made slings with 550 before and I find the sling gets to thick and uncomfortable with 550. Think will go for 425 which is 3mm and better for a 6 strand braid

I don't remember the exact amount, but using the supplies listed in the video I had some leftovers. So if you are looking to make a sling exactly as shown (using the materials mentioned) you'll have more than enough to finish it.
