I am in the works of starting my own tree service, 26 years old. One of the hardest things i see in my future are finding GOOD GUYS. Damian is a solid dude, u guys make a good team. Wish me luck in northern ca, no holes in any roof.. Yet. I do everything solo, literally everything. Climbing gear, 562xp, echo topper, a 5.9 cummins and a trailer.

Interesting rope bag. I've been using the Wesspur torpedo bags for crane work. Your concept is easier to load rope in. The new generation of eye splices also works well for riding the ball. There's nothing to get hung up when pulling the rope out. The 20" setup is cool and goofy at the same time.

For what it's worth...... Inspired by your setup here, I changed my 355t's bar up from a 15.25" to an 18", am loving it!!! And, now that it's more modified & broken-in by another year, my g2500 clone (25cc) is actually **plenty** powerful to push that 15.25" which I've got on it now in fact the chain is dull *and* rakers are high and it still cut well enough (the 18", on the 355t....the 355t didn't seem to notice the extra length lol, if I put it to a 10" log it still seems to cut-through at a nearly identical rate!) Thanks for the tip, was actually seeing a lil clip of you from another vid where you're walking-away from a tree you'd just felled and you'd done the back-cut with your 20" 200t, I knew it'd been a lil while since your 'experiment' began and figured if you'd have opted to use it there then it must be a desirable setup and boy it sure is (only issue I could cite is my bar bumping into stuff a bit more when it's racked but that's hardly been a bother!)

Hi august, I'm a retired builder and when I needed a new trowel I went for a marshalltown with a blade with plenty of lift I've seen me go through a whole pack of trowels to get the one with the blade that when put on the ground it would not lie flat but when the heel of the trowel was on the ground the tip was raised about an inch and this took a lot of pressure off the wrist and you were able to spread the mortar further along the wall and thus you were quicker because you didn't have to go back for more motor as often

Hey! I thought I came up with the term 'little BIG saw'!😂 I did kinda the same thing when I bought my 14" saw. The battery operated platform that I regularly use; would make for a ginormous 14" saw. So I switched makers; and gave up a little battery power; (56v down to 40v); and got the compact saw I was looking for; with a slightly long bar.

Great work Damien! That’s not an easy transition no matter what anyone says. You guys should try out the Crane Man rope slings from WesPur! Those slings are sweet, yes you have to tie them instead of latching a snap but you can terminate them exactly where you want to get perfect balance friends. And also I’ve seen those gates fail on those slings before, I used them for years and had a couple close calls. Actually in this very video on last wood pick you can see the weight against the gate. I’m not a critic friends just a friendly tree guy tryin to pass on a heads up I’m a fan! Keep on the good work💪

Sweet man. Never did any crane tree work. Makes me nervous really. Bucket truck Always does the trick and if I can’t, gotta call the crane guys. Most of my trees get felled with ropes up high in the tree. Climb it up, get my ropes set, lighten the tree as I come down if possible and cut the whole thing with wedges and winch or the truck itself if it requires a lot of travel to come over center. The whole ideah of swinging a tree near me while I’m in the tree, makes me nervous.
@martinirving38244 жыл бұрын
I have an Echo CS-355T. I bought it with the idea it was a climbing saw (biggish bar - 15 inch cut- a little heavy in the tip) that would also work as an adequate ground saw. I think it has delivered. It can certainly take down medium-sized trees with no problems. I did end up buying an Echo CS-620P. It was a little disappointing in that there were issues out of the factory and definite problems with adequate oiling. I allegedly had a cracked oil pipe. And that big guy is thirsty.

For future reference, you can still find Buckingham pole gaff replacements that carry that same angle from the shank, at least here in Canada. I don't like the way American gaffs are made nowadays either. I switched to pole gaffs for save my knees years ago and never looked back.
