Pasco County here. We made it through with minimal impact. I know the damage to the counties to the south were devastating. I hope you and your family are safe and you are able to save most of your garden.

Your garden is beautiful. Grateful, here in tarpon springs we were fine no damage. My moringa tree was blown over by the extreme winds. My thoughts and prayers are on those south of us.

I really enjoy your posts about your lovely gardens & info about the natives. - You’ve been in my thoughts & prayers as your area was hit hard. Hope you will be able to put up a short vlog to give us an update. I live on the east coast of FL and we’ve had a lot of wind. - FlowerLady

Hope you are all fine! Such devastation on the west coast. We got lucky in the East but thoughts. But prayers with all who were impacted. 😢

Funny how you don’t know someone but in the storm I thought about your family and sent a quick prayer. I hope you and your family are okay. My garden is fine north of orlando. It only took over my papaya and my fence.

Ok half my trees are damaged ,bushes gone but I’m looking forward to starting over with all Fla natives. We had this before with Charlie but we are resilient and we will come back. Thank you for your positivity and knowledge you put forth on your channel.

I’m sure you produced this before your storm countdown, but thanks for giving us something lovely to look at/ think about. West Orange County here, and we were spared the worst of it for sure. Power never went out, no big damage, and plants are either in garage or fared well along the fence. I thought one pepper had broken but it had merely flopped over. Very grateful and wishing for the best for all of you.

I'm so glad y'all did well through the storm. And yes, I filmed before I evacuated and then just did my edits at my parents house. Hurricanes are just hurry up and wait. So I figured those who wanted a distraction might enjoy seeing something that was Florida but not hurricane. 🥰

Hope you, your family and garden stayed safe Jackie! We didn't get any rain in North Cental Florida. Lots of wind though. I have Zebra longwinged caterpillars on my Passiflora incarnata. They seem to find my garden in the fall

😯 the vanilla flower and the starry rosin weed planted together in back of a flower bed would be beautiful. Purple and yellow color contrast would be an eye catcher for sure!

Beautiful! It's important to have plant diversity to appeal to all the pollinators. What is your plant spacing for your native plants? I'm in the middle of developing a pollinator garden using native plants around the foundation of my house.

I hope your beautiful home and garden survived. I'm in Jacksonville and very thankful we seem to have dodged a huge bullet. Prayers for everyone who were affected as well a those still in the path like some of my friends and family in Charleston. The aerial videos are simply heartbreaking. Hugs

The tip for Zebra Longwings is to have some passiflora in the shade. The Gulf Frittilaries lay their eggs in the sunny areas, and the Zebra Longwings lay their eggs in shadier areas.

About that giant iron weed, have you thought of tucking in a peony cage? The inexpensive ones works well to keep tall stalks upright. I like the inexpensive ones because they just blend in, the expensive ones in my opinion distract from the flowers.

I'm hoping you escaped the worst of it! Looks like you may have. What a storm! Question: how often do you water this new bed and for how long to get it established. Do you supplement water to all your beds? I have wildflower babies starting in preparation for a new bed and I really want them to grow up big. Currently I water every two days for about 30 minutes. There's a slight slope and the soil is pretty sandy. Also wondering if you ever fertilize aside from compost and mulch? If so, what kind of organic (i'm assuming) fertilizer do you use? THANKS! You have definitely inspired me.

Do you do consultations for those that are local for you??? Or know of any local groups to bounce idea’s around? Thank you for what your doing to support the native plants and pollinators ❣️

This is the sad truth about most Florida native flowers: they are small, mousey looking and a bunch of them always looks weedy and unkempt. Their flowers may look pretty upclose but they are underwhelming almost always when seen from a distance. I think this sad reality is the result of the very poor quality soil that exists in most of the state. The soil is mostly sand and lacking in all kinds of minerals and nutrients. That said, these plants provide lots and lots of food for insects and humingbirds.
