Today I am riding one of my all time favorite trails in Idaho. This trail has a little of everything; creek riding, side hills, meadows, rock gardens, tight switchbacks, and a lot of other terrain that makes for a great ride! I love how scenic this one is! Stick around, because I am taking you from the bottom to the top without many cuts in the video! This is truly one of Idaho's best single track trails!

I did that Haga loop back when I was still riding in... maybe 2008? We went the other direction and ended with the cliffs. The trail is a little different now (there were holes for dynamite drilled) when I was up there and I remember being scared shitless lol. May or may not have spent 30 minutes trying to drag my front tire back onto the trail lol

You are an excellent rider. Those rocky creek-channels are tough, and you aced it through there. I ride a TW200, and although my bike is plenty capable of that trail, I am afraid that that it is above my pay grade. I scares me to go as fast as you on those narrow trails. I hardly ever get out of second gear. I would love to be able to quickly change my countershaft sprocket, but Yamaha in their infinite wisdom made it extremely hard to do. My other Yamahas just had 2 bolts and a nut. I do not need to listen to music watching your videos. The sound of a thumper is always music to my ears. When I was younger, I rode an XT600. I for sure would not want to have taken that monster on that trail. You most likely could have done it with ease. Good job, and nice video.

@@BuilderofRat we do but dirt bikes are not allowed, for safety and noise reasons. You can ride bicycles but not dirtbikes. Italy is far more dense in population than the US so basically even if there are trails you would be disturbing other people and puttint them in danger unfortunately, so it's forbidden Especially where i live (northern italy) if you want to do some adventure riding, you need to be careful and respectful of others To me the US looks like a playground, i bet you could confirm😄 Load the bike on the trailer, pack some food and beers and go for the Adventure wirhouth having to worry about pretty much anything... Wow.. dreams
@BuilderofRat
@BuilderofRat 2 ай бұрын
@@michele1342000 WOW!! I had no idea. I live in Idaho, and you are correct. I have a 25' camp trailer that I pull with my pickup. I made a rack that slides into the bed that holds two 4 wheel drive ATVs. I can easily spend 2 weeks out in the mountains, but usually I need to dump the waste water tanks after 1 week. Where I like to go is also out of cell phone coverage. Another plus!!! I would have a lot of trouble living in such a place as you describe. I lived in a large city for 4 years, San Diego. My wife and I are both small town people, and the constant noise and constant people drove both of us nuts. I bought an older pickup, and then picked up a slide in 8 foot camper. In the winter, we would go East across the mountain range into the desert. We would go out a dirt road, then when the road got to rough, I would engage the 4 wheel drive and go further. Many times we would not see anyone for the whole weekend. At the time I had a Yamaha XT600. that I would load crossways at the back. it was so peaceful out there. In the summer we just had to go for drives to get out of the hustle and bustle. We could not go to the desert in the summer, because it was 115 F out there. I live in the country, 7 miles from a town of 60,000 people. I only have 3 neighbors within 150 yards. I love it out here. I suppose that if I had never known anything else, like your situation, I would not know any better. If I was over there, it would be like a round peg in a square hole. I just would not fit in. Within 30 minutes, I can be in the high desert with no-one in sight. Invest another 30 minutes, and I would be totally alone. Not another person within 20 miles. There are also mountains if I go in any other direction. I love this state. I also love Nevada for the same reasons. In Nevada, if you see someone broke down on the side of the road in a rural area, you usually stop. You may be the only one they will see for hours, if not days. I had better stop, I am starting to ramble on..............LOL Thanks for the comment. I really enjoyed reading it.

Yea 450's seem overly tiring. I got a guy I ride with that tells me to grip the bike more with my legs. Believe me if i didn't lock my legs and knees on the bike my arms would get tired fast but even then the torque and engine breaking tire you out. He rides a 250L. I think for my next bike I'm getting a sherco 300 ser or a husky 300 tpi. I'll keep the 450L because I have a lot of riding areas close by that I dont have to trailer to but for hard single track I love the softer power of 2 strokes at low rpm. My arms appreciate it.
@RacerRed
@RacerRed 4 жыл бұрын
The 450's definitely make you tired faster. I love riding the 450 in any condition, but it is slightly more clumsy with low end power output than a 2 stroke. It tends to give me a little too much at times, although it never keeps me from getting through gnarly stuff.

@@BenchRacer117 Sorry about the late response! I just kept the rear sprocket stock. It wont bother you unless you spend a lot of time on roads. It will still rev out to around 80mph, but it only does about 45mph at a good easy engine rpm.

I know that one. A good sphincter tightener on your first time! I saw people near the river pointing and waiting for my death. 😂

LOL there is a campground right across the river, so many onlookers will wonder how the heck a motorcycle is up on the side of what appears to be a cliff! I'm glad you didn't actually die! Thanks for commenting man!

I wish you guys would at least post creek names. Some trails I really want to ride if I knew where they were. Others like this not. Big Smoky Creek I would never try if I had seen a video ahead of time

Make sure your watching it in 1080P. KZfaq has terrible down scaling software. I thought it was the camera at first but I realized I was watching it in 720 and it looked terrible.
