The part you were questioning is called a flex pipe. They allow the exhaust system to flex and bend to keep it from cracking and causing problems.

This sounds really good. If I had a V6, I would def go this route. Your car probably sounds better than my 5.0 lol. I'm a huge fan of exhausts on cars, and I really think you did this right. I've seen V6 chargers and challengers do this type of thing on theirs with the super 10 replacing the resonator, and I think yours sounds by far the best. Nice job!

Aye bro, I got the lethal performance H pipe in the middle and it definitely makes the car sound deeper. I had the flow master x-pipe before and it was too raspy for my ears. Definitely go with an H pipe, you won’t regret it. It’s coming from someone who has used both. Go for the X-pipe only if you like the raspier sound.

the X pipe will fit perfect, I definitely suggest the flowmaster Xpipe for the 3.7 it makes it deeper. My old 2017 3.7 had a muffler delete and a flowmaster xpipe and people would ask me all the time if it was a v8 sleeper

I have this same exhaust setup on my 5.0 but using a black widow muffler, and solo performance muffler deletes (eliminates drone). People really don’t know how good these cars sound with the muffler in the middle of the car! Great sound, makes me miss my V6!

So your question with the X-pipe, it would not be possible (without fabrication) to put an X-pipe in that area. The typical spot for an X is right where your mid mufflers are thats where the X would go. Also personally speaking when you get rid of the stock cats do some high flow cats instead of no cats due to the fact of no cats will make it incredibly raspy and unfortunately for the cyclones they can be pretty wet fart sounding when going full straight pipes

It’s either I do this to my 2016 V6 or I buy a 2010 ish GT with like 60k miles on it. My 2016 v6 only has 23k miles on it atm so I was thinking on doing some work on it to make it more fun to drive and then later on probably sell it for a better deal on a GT.

@ Blue.F.O _3.7 - With a stock engine removing the cats won't make much of a difference as far as power is concerned. As far as the sound of you car is concerned, I hate it. I like loud. However, I don't like loud and distorted. Without cats, your car will be louder. However, all you will do is add rasp to the distortion. I wouldn't concern myself with power at this point. This is the reason why. At this point although they change the exhaust note, the larger throttle body, shorty headers, and cold air intake have added nothing meaningful in terms of power. At one time BBK used to claim that their shorty headers added about 13 horsepower to a V6 Mustang. If you read the fine print at the bottom of their ad, BBK claimed this additional power also required their cold air intake and throttle body. They don't make that claim anymore. In my opinion that shows an attempt to misguide people as to the effectiveness of those products. Altogether, you spent about $1200 and spent even more if you have someone else do the installation. I hate to say this but you made the same mistake many people do. They allowed themselves to believe what advertisers and keyboard racers tell others. As someone that owns a V6 Mustang, please consider my advice. First and foremost figure out what your goals are when it comes to your car. Second develop a realistic budget. Third save the money you will need to add what you want to the car and don't take short cuts. When it comes to power, there are 3 routes to choose from. You can either go naturally aspirated, or you can go with a power adder, or both. If you go naturally aspirated, I would go with a ported intake, long tubes, and a quality cat back exhaust. If you like loud which apparently you do, consider the Solo performance cat back system. Sound is a matter of personal taste. Listen to sound clips of what others bought. Sell those shorty headers for whatever you can get. BBK makes a fairly good long tube header with a mid pipe. Get rid of the cold air intake and add a K&N filter to the stock air box unless you like the look. They will do the same in terms of power. Keep the throttle body if you go with a ported intake. Although I doubt it, it might do something. If it were me I would sell that too. With a ported intake, long tubes, and a quality cat back exhaust, you will have added about 30-40 horsepower. If you want to add power, add a nitrous kit and get a tune for it. If you don't want to go with nitrous, have 3.73 gears installed. No matter what you do get good tires. Traction is a problem with the Mustang. In case you're wondering what I did to my V6, I went with a Procharger, 2-1/2" exhaust, gears, and water/methanol injection. Was it worth it? It depends on when you ask me.
