One of my friends saw me playing overwatch and decided to pick up the game and play with me because "my aim and gameplay is bad" and "i could do better" so once he got the game we played together and he pretty much got rolled in every match we played together. He blamed me (at least he got that part of Overwatch down right?) and played alone for a week. This was months ago and hes still hardstuck bronze 5 while im on my way out of silver.

Fun fact- the shooting after being afk is most likely from them clicking back into the window when returning from a second monitor.

As far as the Pharah not switching, your underestimate how low elo players refuse to switch characters under any circumstance. Just the fact that they didn't switch when they were getting shot down constantly with or without knowing if the Solider was cheating or not shows it

They probably play Soldier because he is just a stream of bullets. If you miss 5 shots as Soldier, you still have 30 others in the magazine. If you miss 5 shots as Widow, you are probably already dead.

Overwatch being non-mechanical to some extent really shows itself in the fact that I’m a gold DPS. I can’t hit a damn thing but my understanding of how to apply pressure and punish certain things lets me pull my weight. Over time my aim has improved, but there are times where I’m amazed at the aim of an opponent and wonder how they’re gold.

If cheaters are more common in lower ELO lobbies, imagine what that new player experience would be like. It'd suck really hard.

It's crazy I just looked up how much cheats cost, and how much it costs to buy a random account. Like, as long as blizzard doesn't block by IP then you can get a Diamond smurf account for $35 and cheats for a day starting at ~$8. So I see why some people do it maybe for shits and giggles, because I can see if I had that kind of mindset then I'd be half tempted just to try it for fun once and then never again.

Bruh if my team had a cheater I'd try so hard to troll them just so the other team wins. Had a soldier aimbotter on the enemy team the other day, me and my teammate were kinda suspecting of him during the entire match but once the POTG happened and we saw that he was actually aimbotting we all reported his ass. But here is where it gets confusing to me. We've all been there. You don't start a new thing and are immediately awesome at it. Nothing in life works like that. You are bad at the start and that's why you keep doing the thing until you are better. Same with video games. You keep playing them to improve. There is no point in a video game, if you are already level 100 when you start it for the first time. The entire point is to "level up" aka. get better. The very first character I played in my first game of Overwatch was Widow... and I was absolute dogshit. But my very first thought wasn't "let's slap on some cheats to show these assholes". It was "let's keep playing, watching other Widow players play and *get better* ". And: I got better. I don't understand the mindset that as a new player you don't keep playing and improving but instead you just use cheats. Of course everyone else is better at the beginning, they've all been playing longer than you at that moment. Even if all you would need is better aim, why would you not keep practicing to GET BETTER AIM. Why is cheats the first conclusion for these type of players? Like why play the game then, there is no point. I used to think, they might just be lazy, they don't want to put in the work to get better, but they are putting in "the work" to get the game in the first place, start the game, play the first match of the game etc. Like... you already came this far, just keep playing and the skill will come automatically. Who are they doing it for? I myself think it's much cooler to see how far you've come through developing actual skill. Looking back at my first game, I laugh at myself. And when I see recent replays of my matches there are moments where I recognize that I've improved and I enjoy actually witnessing good plays by me. No one is impressed by cheats though and everyone can just use some aim bot, where does it get cool? I couldn't watch replays of that, tap myself on the shoulder and go "yeah I'm a good player" after using cheats. I am literally the one person knowing 100% that that isn't my actual skill and own achievemtn, but I used training wheels. The mind of these players seems to work different though.

huh, that Low ELO explanation could certainly explain what i am witnessing. like, there's lots of people here saying that they meet cheaters every second game, just loads of them, while i play 2 hours 6 days a week and have so far met literally a single cheater. and i always watch killcams and often go over my replays, so i would definitely have noticed any cheater. apparently there just arn't any on my ELO (somwhere on the gold-plat border)

Game sense beats aim in this game, multiple characters have beams or even auto lock aim it’s all about being a team player and keeping cooldowns in check. I’m diamond in dps and support just because I can hear footsteps and predict when abilities are going to pop due to the situation

In some cases its obvious ofc but do they have some specific tool to see if that person has some program for cheats or do they analyze it just by watching the game and deciding if its a cheater or not?
