This is one of the earliest live performances of legendary boy band *NSYNC, recorded at Clinton High School in Clinton, Mississippi on December 9, 1995. Lance was a member of the Attaché Show Choir and *NSYNC performed two songs between sets during the choir's Fall Revue.
Introduction - Chip Reynolds, Emcee
1:54 - "I Thought She Knew"
5:55 - "I'll Be Back For More"

Fun fact: Justin said that when Chris called him up to make a boyband, he was with JC in a studio making music at the time. So he pulled JC into the group as well.

It was the producers of the songs that picked who would sing lead. After the songs were pitched to the group and they decided which ones to record they would each sing the song too to bottom, the producer would choose which voice landed as close to their vision as possible. Justin and JC have the more Pop leaning vocals therefore they sang lead the most.

It's a shame. It was the same for Backstreet Boys. All good singers, but only 2 main singers for most of the band's career together. I believe Howie was actually their primary lead in their early development. The same formula. They went with the youngest (and babyish voice) and the most soulful and the leads.

Cause their voices dont do well for pop style. Jc and justin have the ideal voices especially justin. Chris is more of a falsetto guy thats cool for the background vocal and effects but not for the main lead and joey is a baritone or something doesn’t really have a lead verse voice. The same can be observed in backstreet boys where the main lead voices are brian and aj with occasional leads from nick

Underrated? They sold 50 million records worldwide. Their Greatest Hits album sold 600k copies without any promotion and any promotional single. and 3 years after their split. He's a talented boy and born to be an artist, and he wouldn't be a star of MMC if he wasn't. Ok, it's his style of singing (ok, nasal, whiny whatever) - it makes him him. He has a rich tenor voice (listen when he sings low and calm), amazing control for his age, riffs like a pro. I love that we can hear here how beautiful and soulful Joey and Chris sound! Mr. Chasez is a king (..no words here - at 19, what?!). I thank God they've found each other and we had a chance to listen to them! @wegotit2587 10 ай бұрын
@@nikig2382You do realize that when artists are signed with record labels, the executives generally dictate what and how an artist is going to produce right? With no monetary support from the label, plus not given the same fair opportunities to work with the best producers an artist may prefer, this can either kill or make their careers. Justin was dating Britney at the time so they opened up their wallets to whatever Justin wanted (and his aggressive stage mom helped him too). With JC, they treated him as if he was a new artist where they couldn’t trust him on his talent or worth (despite JC’s heavy contributions to No Strings Attached album which held the place as #1 album sold in a week for 15 years) and a lot of his music was picked for him….most were demos he wrote meant for other artists. The real JC came out from his never released album “The Story of Kate.” Back after MMC days ended, JC was already recording demos before he joined Nsync (mostly R&B, Jazz and Soul)….but at the time during early 90s nobody was supporting a “White R&B Artist.” He was literally discouraged from doing so simply because he was White! This despite knowing the fact every Nsync fan Knows JC’s god given talent lies primarily in R&B and ballads! One of the earliest songs Nsync ever performed when they have yet to land a label was written and recorded by JC when he was 18 titled “Give In To Me” (featured in a Jazz artist’s album), so don’t come with the bullshit that JC didn’t have the so called “It” factor. No normal fucken kid around that age is talented enough to write and vocally carry a song that well early in life! This so called “It” factor you folks preach of is marketing (from management) and narcissism (which Justin and a lot of so called “It” artists ooze of). In order to last as long as they do, a lot of these mediocre “talents” (Madonna, Bob Dylan, Justin Timberlake, Robin Thicke, Iggy Azalea, Taylor Swift, J-Lo, etc) perform blood sacrifices (in some cases literally). They don’t get to the top alone because of their special talents. The behind the scenes handlers play a big part (often with manipulation and subliminal messaging to the crowd because most people are stupid sheeple who are easy to manipulate) BUT the artists themselves also have to possess extreme narcissism or some other extreme personality defect (like BPD or ASPD or in a lot of cases Histrionic Personality Disorder). This is why we see a lot of these celebrities engage in high risks behaviors like drug abuse and have mental breakdowns. And you can bet all the top ones who have “made it” are the Cluster B Personality Class of folks who also have co-morbidities such as Bipolar disorder. It is extremely rare for good people to make it THAT big. They exist but are far and few.

Oh JC. JC you and that voice of yours. ♥️♥️♥️♥️ Chris’ harmonies are so good! And joey’s voice. I mean I knew he’s got a good voice but this is a nice reminder. But JC. I’ll always be like “damn”.

Such a gem. Love anything throwback VHS footage from the 90s. They all sound so good, JC the best as always! JT had such a soulful voice for a 14 year old Lance's Bass amazing as usual Joey's powerful theatre voice nice Chris' sweet falsetto

Gotta love the choreography! They’re so young and adorable. This was about 4 years before I became a fan. I do wish they had featured Joey and Chris more through the years.

I always thought Justin and JC were the only great singers. They all sound so good. I wonder why all of them didn’t sing lead on songs.

Different from Backstreet Boys, Joey and Chris didn’t care much about being the main one you know. Lance just never liked singing alone but in acapellas he really shines out.

They are a "parts" band. Much like Pentatonix today. Their vocals were layered on top of each other. So in songs like this you can really hear each vocal. There are a few others but this song was arranged this way for this purpose.

Wow, this shows these guys were the real deal and knew how to sing and harmonize. I'm surprised by Joey and Chris voices, one so powerful and the other so high. Overall this reminded me of the Jackson 5 with JT being the younger member that end up being the biggest star, just like Michael Jackson back in the day.

Michael Jackson was the one who encouraged Justin to go solo with Justified. Apparently he called a few times during the recording sessions to check in. And if you watch Justin's first solo MTV performance, he's wearing gloves in homage of MJ's style.
