The battery backup sometimes sells out on Amazon. I apologize, I do not have a replacement alternative to recommend if that happens.

Step by step instructions and links: www.prettypurpledoor.com/easy...
pond nozzle kit: amzn.to/36aeEhO
electric fountain pump: amzn.to/2FUcWXr
solar fountain pump: amzn.to/369y3Q8
solar pump battery backup:
amzn.to/3pziEEP

One of the easiest (and coolest) DIY pondless water feature yet. Make this invisible fountain bubbler in an afternoon and enjoy it for years to come! This particular pondless water feature project should cost you a total of $75 - $100 depending on what materials you need to purchase. You may have some of these items at home, already! If you decide to go the solar route, this will cost closer to $200.
Steps to create this pondless fountain
1- Dig a hole to fit basin
2- Place basin in the hole
3- Assemble the pump
4- Cover pump with cloche or cheese cloth and anchor to bottom of basin
5- Place metal grate on top of basin level with the ground
6- Cover the grate with hardware cloth (screen)
7- Cut a trap door into the hardware cloth for servicing the pump
8- Make the pump easy to access in the future
9- Bury edges of screen with soil
10- Add rocks to the screen area above the basin
11- Fill your basin with water
12- Turn on & enjoy

Did similar fountain on Sunshine Coast, Australia but didn’t use an outer filter, that’s a good tip. I was cleaning filter every week as it clogged up and stopped the flow. Filled fountain in after a year, another problem in Queensland is the water attracts Cane Toads. They don’t need much of an invitation to your garden and the fountain was just too inviting.

@@PrettyPurpleDoor lol, I tried using some old volcanic rocks from my neighbour but boy were they ever sharp!! So I got rid of that after two bad cuts. First thing I did this morning is run out to see it! I've had a small pond mold from my parents. It's got to be 30 years old and so I've been cleaning it every few days and then almost once a week a complete drain and refill. This is sooo much better! I used an old screen thingy from Hubby and then put a kind of window screen over that. It's so awesome! I'm going to add some of my crystals and chunks of quartz I have too. I just so excited about all of the possibilities! Thanks again! btw; I love your KZfaq name! Hugs from Ontario, Canada

Thank you for sharing this. I’m thinking of wanting to do something like this for a double aviary in my house and because that Avery has may be about a foot underneath I was thinking of maybe putting the bucket or container underneath and piping it into the aviary where I would have like a waterfall effect with a collection at the bottom piped back into the container underneath so the water can go around. I’d like to do this while at the same time using the water supply to titrate some of the water on a timer to water plants that have berry bushes that are beneficial for a parrot so I can create more of a natural Ecosystem for my parrot. Wondering if you can share any tips for that idea specific for birds and inside. The aviary will be 64” x 32” wide and, about 70” tall

it's snowing here in Missouri and now I just want to get out there and get to creating this! thank you for sharing this tutorial....you've made it look really doable and easy. My only question is how often do you need to add water to yours? can it overflow? again, yours looks absolutely beautiful and I'm so inspired to try this. Thanks!
@PrettyPurpleDoor
@PrettyPurpleDoor 3 жыл бұрын
Hi! I'm so glad it was helpful. I think I topped mine off once or twice in the entire season (spring-fall). It doesn't lose much water. Yes it could overflow if you have heavy rains. If that happens turn your pump on and shoot the water outside of the area where the basin is to drain it. That will remove some water. Ps: this has never happened to me but it technically could happen.
@Susannewk
@Susannewk 2 жыл бұрын
@@PrettyPurpleDoor I love your bucket idea as it holds way more water than the kit form we bought when back in Scotland. It was beautiful but even in Scotland in what is deemed to be ‘summer’ the rocks would heat up and the water would evaporate very quickly…so I used to have to refill it up to twice per DAY! Your bucket would obviate that problem I think. Now we are retired to northern Portugal and we have a pond, but also have what was a larger deeper pond - 3 ½ feet or more…I’ve been planning on making another bubbler pond using river rocks and plants again! Actually getting electricity to that area is our main problem for thought at the moment! I don’t think a solar pump would be useful as it won’t work in the evening when is dark…. Or in shade which can come and go! Thanks for ‘kick starting my idea again - hubby will be SO pleased! 😂

@PrettyPurpleDoor
@PrettyPurpleDoor 3 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late reply. I got mine at Home Depot I think it's 20 gallons about about 2 feet deep. You can get a much wider basin or use pond liner as well. A little wider than what I have would actually be better to contain all of the splash-back. All of the details are here: www.prettypurpledoor.com/easy-diy-water-feature/

Hi Amy! :-). Just stumbled over your awesome video and LOVE this idea and would love to try this right away!. Just a question, when you put the pump down into the basin, how is in anchored in, so that it won't float around...did you use rocks around it, down at the bottom?, also what is the basin made out of? it looks like porcelain...or what can I use ?. Thank you Amy. Joanna.:-)
@PrettyPurpleDoor
@PrettyPurpleDoor 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Joanna, the basin is kind of a flexible rubbery material. They sell them near the pond liners, etc. I did anchor my pump with a rock... Or maybe an old brick? Most pumps have suction cups on the bottom so they will not float away though
I built a water fountain in 4 hours. (full build, no talking.) #asmr
