I live in Eastbourne, a few minutes walk from where this journey started, and I make this journey four times each week, (alighting at Newhaven). The Coaster Bus 13X also travels between Eastbourne and Brighton, but takes a somewhat different route, via the well known Beachy Head, and Birling Gap, and is a very pleasant journey. Also worth mentioning is the Stagecoach 98 bus, which runs between Eastbourne and Hastings, travelling via Hailsham, and Herstmonceux. This is also a very enjoyable run.

What beautiful countryside! I have visited the UK several times and always enjoyed riding the buses, especially in Cambridgeshire. Sadly with Covid and age, I doubt that I will get to travel that far again. But now I've found a way to still enjoy the English countryside. Thank you very much. Alan from Tasmania.

For Stuart Kinnear. Yes, you've hit the nail right on the head. For travelling round the UK you must select your sunny days (unless it's a visit indoors - sporting fixture, castle, stately mansion). For the coast, it always looks ten times better if you've planned for high tide (go to a good travel shop like Stanfords in Covent Garden for the tide tables). You've got 48 counties to do, and like me, it'll take you two or three years of the whole summer, to do. And that's ONLY England. So, get cracking.

Brings such memories. I stayed at the YHA Eastbourne and the bus stops right outside. The ride is stunning especially when you realise it's all on a plateau well above sea level. On the way back from Seaford I got off at the Seven Sisters and walked to Birling Gap. On the path to Beachy head you get this amazingly surreal sight of the land just disappearing - it's the cliff at Beachy head seen from inland.

Wow... That's a very quiet bus and a very smooth ride compared to the ones I get on this service!! Of course we all avoid that bus like the plague becuase it takes so long amd catch the 12X instead which has limited stops from Seaford to Brighton.

Great video especially the last part in Brighton. I noticed there was an American Classic car day close to Brighton. You could see some classic cars return while the bus was heading to Brighton. I've driven this road a couple of times during the last 33 years and it's a lovely but very slow route.

Ah Eastbourne, the town of my birth. I only got to live there for a few years in total - family moved up to Swindon (ugh) when I was only three years old, and I returned for a short while in my teens to live for about a year and a half with my birth mother. Sadly things didn't work out, so I had to move back to this dreary town with no real identity left. I really hope to return to Eastbourne one day and make it my forever-home. I would have liked to live somewhere in the US, but my medical issues have put paid to that idea - it would simply be too expensive to exist in that country for me. But Eastbourne will always hold a big chunk of my heart, and I dearly miss the smell of the salty sea air and the fantastic views over the coast ... and the ability to go for a walk in the surrounding Downs! Such a pretty location in the world, along the South coast of England!

At first I thought that you just got back on the bus from your previous trip in the opposite direction from a few months ago. But then you list Oct 9th as the date. I might not have believed you because the day was just as beautiful as it was on the opposite trip, just less people wearing shorts and more wearing long pants and coats. :)

Really Love these "Bus Trips". Why can't we listen to some nice subdued music in the background, after all, Most people when they are driving DO listen to "Something"other than to sounds of road. Still enjoy the "chatter" of the commuters. Sometimes they are too solemn!

Lovely video. But your forward only view has missed out some of the best views on that road. Particularly around 21 mins at Cuckmere , the Seven Sisters Park. A view to the left would have shown the river meandering out through the flood plain valley to the sea, in my opinion the best and most iconic view on that journey.
