Funny 😁 thing. My husband Jim and I loved Russell Tovey and Jonathan Groff, since the series “looking “. Then here is a “coincidence “ we found: Jim was born on November 14th so was Tovey. Groff was born on March 26th, and so was I.

I can't make myself watch Looking The Movie, wish there was a different ending. Although I was always rooting for Kevin, realistically I knew him and Patrick were not a match made in heaven. Settling with Richie is kind of disappointing. The best closure from my perspective would be Jonathan Groff's character single, happy and still looking for that dream guy.

He is one of those actors that just keep on doing good work but who will probably never be a leading star. Britain and Australia seem to turn out more of them than the USA, but perhaps not. Jerry O'Connell in the USA comes to mind as an American example of someone who has plodded along and done quite well, but I suspect he is one of a few Americans who can say this.Quite like this guy, but those ears!! He outshone Benedict Cooper and the others in The History Boys, I think. His character is so ordinary and that is only achieved with good acting.
@ActorsWithIssuespodcast7 жыл бұрын
I'd say he's getting rather popular because of his TV and Film work in the US now. He's on Quantico on ABC and he's the new favorite character of the season, I hadn't known him from any other work until that show and he's one of my favorite performers now.
@jslasher16 жыл бұрын

+Juan Ayala film, "The History Boys" play 2004, film 2006 was my first awareness of him. He toured with it on stage then the film and the rest is really history. He has not stopped working since. Theatre, cinema, television. He did a revival of Angels in America, London and on Broadway. "The Pass" stage 2014, the film 2016 brilliant. He did both. Being Human as werewolf UK version totally superior production. Quantico and Looking are the least of his best work. His fame and success in Europe came long before those shows.

Cos you say starting their thing he is unavailable already, so - what? he should end being unavailable and that is the mature thing? hahahooe - this is really lame, Russell! thank you, for such a turn off opinion!
@siobhanobrien787 жыл бұрын
you don't understand how acting works. An actor can't condemn their own character, it would effect their ability to play that character. Villains don't ever think they're a villain. Donald Trump doesn't think he's a bad guy no matter how ignorant, hateful greedy and destructive he is.
@brandonmiles867 жыл бұрын
I think that what Russell was saying that if you get involved with somebody knowing that they are already with someone, you don't get to change the rules later and insist that they break up with who they are with. You are an adult. If you want to be exclusive with somebody and they are already with somebody, don't date them. Very simple. Like Russell said, he knew what he was getting into when they first started seeing each other.

@lucamolta8 жыл бұрын
completely he is essentially saying that because they are boys that they were better equipped to do those shows as all boys and that as all women all hell would break loose ie the boys are more capable together than the women are. he's just perpetuating an idea of women being catty and emotional but the reality is that many women together doing what they were doing is probably a scary thought for most men and the misogyny creeps in girls wouldn't have been able to handle our tough maddening schedule because if i struggled she certainly couldn't cut it because im a man whose the master of his emotions. men have been trained to believe emotion and struggle is a weakness rather than a natural and necessary reaction to life. even an actor can make this mistake. this is just a typical misapprehension about women and is a myth fostered and perpetuated in our media reality tv shows etc. women are no less likely to work well together than men. women and men express their emotions differently that doesn't mean that men handle them better just that they reveal themselves differently. Russell talks about how the boys helped each other pull themselves together, women would do the same just in a different way. Studies are inconclusive in the differences of women and mens ability to empathise some suggesting that men can be more objective when recognising emotion while women will identify it but also experience a degree of that emotion by identifying it. Either way the boys ability to support each other would be no more than the girls. Russell might believe it would be chaos because what he might consider emotionally draining or difficult would be a better and more effective support system for the women than the model that the boys employed.
@JaneP20238 жыл бұрын
Yes this is spot on! I guess it's not his fault, after all he is a product of the times but it is nonetheless frustrating when an influential person perpetuates the problem
@lucamolta8 жыл бұрын
yes he's too busy enjoying his life and its privilege for which he has earned and yet it falls on all people to be more informed about gender parity especially if you are someone with a larger platform to speak upon and especially as a man in which case you are more likely not to be as familiar with sexism towards women than you would if you were female. Im genuinely surprised someone in the industry he is in would say that because no doubt his female colleagues would have a thing or two to say about it. Anyway thank you to everyone involved in Looking thanks Tovey and thank goodness only five more days now till it comes out. lets hope someone will make it accessible in Australia (prettyprettyplease with Groffs ass on top) i couldn't get hbo even if i wanted to.
