I agree this generation is always complaining about everything instead of appreciating.. I was literally just saying they should release the Luffy with the signature Joyboy pose and they drop so I’m very happy no matter how it looks

As a customer, I don't like the Funko's strategy of selling unmouthed and mouthed version separately because we clearly see Funko is trying to make profit. But it's understandable in a business perspective. I might end up getting the mouthed version, too. As a OP fan, I think the fans should just learn to compromise - this world itself is not 100% ideal for everyone.

So in an effort to give Luffy the most unique and iconic smile of all the pops like fans wanted….they were upset anyway… Ridiculous. The pop looks fantastic.

To answer your question about stores to go to: There’s a shop in west Melbourne Florida, called famous faces and funny’s, they are really nice and they have comics, anime statues, manga, mostly funkos and they also have cards events, they can also put things on hold for a couple days but overall it’s a great store and I always go there with my father.

The other examples are better because they have slightly more depth to the mouth. The issue is the tongue and teeth are placed almost flat in the mouth, depth would’ve made for an awesome Pop.

I really like the “King of Artist” Gear 5 Luffy figure. It brings me joy just looking at it as it captures the exact pose and demeanor in the manga/anime. I’m torn whether or not I should keep my preorder for this Gear 5 pop.

I like the new one, yes we can always a better pop with some other detail but we honestly got what we wanted at mouth. So I’m happy. I personally agree Aussie collectibles are good company from bought from them twice here in the us and they delivered quick and well protected

Honestly though, if people think the first Gear 5 pop looks better than they should just go for that one. Honestly this pop would not have worked AT ALL without the details they gave it. (I mean, I thought the mouth was a tiny bit off as well looking at those shots from yesterday, and the Funko Eyes are questionable, even if in style, but looking at it as a whole, together, away on a shelf, it looks amazing! (in my opinion))

For sure way way better than the first G5 pop. Should have been the first one to release. That first one (pose) is not even in the manga or anime. This new one is straight from Manga which is as perfect as it can get

5:55 Not about this specific POP, but you're totally right about seeing POPs in person. The 3D sizing and depth that goes on with the POP window boxes, really really improves basically every figure from the initial impression you get just seeing photos online, both the glam renders and actual photos... in your hand they're always much cuter. The only exception I would say is certain pops that are forced to use the full 2-piece plastic inserts (Fishing Gon, JUMBOs, Campaign Eddie, Angel Kronk, just from the ones I see in front of me), where those basically need to be out of box to look their best, so that the main focal point of their face isn't covered in extra details/shadow/reflection from the plastic.

I hate this. Funko gives them EXACTLY what they wanted and they don't stop whining and crying. Meanwhile, we the JJK fans are STILL having unnecessary Season 1 Pops, and a Megumi NOBODY asked for.

To be honest and I really love one piece, more than you skittle regarding if you want to acknowledge or admit it. But I can see why Funko did not want to do a pop with Luffy smiling. That smile is hideous on that pop. But Funko knows we’re gonna all degen invited anyways. And they’re not entirely wrong.

@skittlerampage There’s something I don’t think anyone noticed on the Luffy uppercut Funko Pop. His sash on his waist is on his right side instead of his left. Funko really didn’t pay attention lol. Off topic but wanted to mention.

I originally didn't find a chase of the first one. Was ok with the regular one. Then my guy at gamestop had a chase for me. With rewards and junk, cost me 3 bucks. I still think this one looks sick and I still pre-ordered it immediately. Lol

All the reasons you listed are reasonable. IMO, for those who wanted Gear 5 Luffy with smile, have to pay twice the price (For both the first and Gamestop release). And since both pops are similar, it would be hard for people to get rid of the first one. I personally plan to get Gear 5 Luffy but after factoring in the stand, I might hold off for a bit until I see some reviews. QOTD: Zoro. Because he's loyal and trustworthy. Also he looks cool and love his personality as well.

Honestly I love the new design! I just didn't post saying so, but I pre-ordered right away. First time I've done that as a Pop collector. That said, this was _THE_ Pop pose I wanted the most since the beginning... now if they want to do a Giant Gear 5 Luffy grabbing the lightning, where we can pose it looking down on Dragon Kaido... then... (Also, I got so many favorite One Piece characters, I don't even want to bother answering. It's the obvious ones people probably mention: Luffy, Nami, Ussop, Chopper, Zoro, Sanji, Robin, Franky, Jinbei, Brook (basically all the straw hats), Law, Aokiji, Kidd, Kizaru, Kuma, Buggy, Momo, Bart, Cavendish, Bepo, Yamato, Carrot, Pedro, basically every character that is a Super Nova, Warlord, even some marines now, oh yeah, Kaku and Lucci, Katakuri...)

If the 3D render is 10/10. The actual product is barely 6/10, that's the main issue. It's not that is bad, it's just dissapointing. On the other side, the previous mold was 8/10 on the 3D render but the actual product still 8/10🤷🏻‍♂️
