Arlong is exemplary of of the struggle to adapt to live action. Arlong, Garp, and Roger are all very large individuals and their depiction in the comic is intended to present them as imposing or larger than life. So it is bizarre seeing them as "real" people because they're going to have realistic proportions and height (i.e they'll be smaller, more normal-looking). Wth Garp and Roger it's harder because they're "regular" people, but I do wish they'd used some more of that big budget to CG Arlong and make him bigger a-la Hulk from the MCU since he's a fishman anyways and would require more effort for his appearance regardless.

@@BajaBCat There's a looooot of examples in live action of using camera perspectives and even post-scene editing to make characters appear larger than they really are. I was surprised to see so little of that in this. Like even a large bodybuilder type of actor like they used in game of thrones for the Mountain would have been perfect. But alas

​​@@BajaBCatot just that where would you find someone who have the same amount of muscles as the character unless you went to a boxing match or body-building competition other than that no humans has the same body size as anime characters and also I wouldn't want a body builder as a fishman it would make me feel icky

@@Neo-Queenserenityt2l Very true. The really unique and over-sized appearance or some of the characters would be next to impossible to replicate with normal actors. So, unfortunately it is what it is, but overall this looks great.

@@xRakanishu Well the problem with manga/anime is they have a lot of character focused establishing shots that make it hard to hide the actor's actual size. But to your point I am surprised that, if they couldn't hide it or use CG, they didn't opt for a bigger actor around The Mountain or Kevin Durand's size. Overall though I'm impressed with how good this looks.

My thoughts exactly, I love the wheel of time and started wat hing one piece because of my friend and I couldn't be more excited for September and august for television.

Right?! Literally having this & Wheel of Time season 2 back to back is gonna be incredible. The trailers for both these shows have been making me so damn excited for the fall 🔥🔥

Sanji's eyebrow will be introduced later in the series. Maybe when his bounty changes to "Alive". This will give a foreshadowing to first time watchers of one piece that there is more to Sanji than him being a chef. From what I've heard it is that Sanji will get his eyebrows when he powers up.

I dunno he barely fit thru that door they may have just figured it would be better scaling down for realism,... I'm not upset about the design at all and seeing that News Coo gives me hope on Chopper's design as well.

@@FiskerTon95idk, arlong can be made a looming threat throughout the full show (first season) pretty easily without being forced/bad. It all depends on execution

Bro ODA made a statement on why Sanji and Usopp are missing their nose and eyebrows, and according to him it just would work realistically because no human has swirly brows or a long ass nose yes ik it's OP but still this isn't the cartoon anymore it's LIVE ACTION real life not a drawing
