Phone vs professional microphone has been tested, and it shows professional microphone captures more detail than a phone, and even phone can sound good it will still miss a lot of things.

You speak truth, but not all musicians have access to high quality studio level equipment. The voice notes ability is still a game changer for broke but talented producers. :)
